Previous editions DIN 2559-2: 1976-04, 1984-02 DIN 2559-2:2007-09 4 1 Scope This standard specifies matching dimensions for butt joints welded from one side, with joint preparation as in DIN EN ISO 9
12、692-1, for welds on seamless steel tubes having dimensions and tolerances as in DIN EN 10216-1:2004-07, 8.7, or DIN EN 10216-2:2004-07, 8.7. This document helps ensure proper matching of diameters and wall thicknesses without extensive corrections being necessary. This document may also be applied t

DIN 2559-2:2007-09 5 4 Dimensions 4.1 General Figures 1 and 2 illustrate the matching diameter dpand wall thick
18、ness t of the tube. The following three equations shall be used to calculate dp: For outside diameter tubes use the following equation: dp= Dminimal 2 tpFor inside diameter tubes use the equations below: dp= 1,01 d or dp= 1,02 dminIt is assumed that larger wall thicknesses are selected for inside di
19、ameter tubes to allow for weakening (holes). Where a weakening factor has not been used in calculations, the matching diameter dpshall be selected on the basis of the calculated wall thickness. The minimum allowable wall thicknesses tpfrom manufacturing are
21、 given in Table 9. For tubes with inside diameters as in DIN EN 10216-2:2004-07, Table 8, the minimum allowable wall thickness is given by subtracting the tolerance from the wall thickness t. For tubes with outside diameters as in DIN EN 10216-2:2004-07, Table 9, the minimum allowable wall thickness
22、 is identical with the minimum wall thickness tmin, given the lower tolerance limit of 0 mm. For tubes with inside diameters as in DIN EN 10216-2:2004-07, Table 10, the minimum allowable wall thickness is identical with the minimum wall thickness tmin, given the lower tolerance limit of 0 mm. Tables
23、 2 to 5 give various equations for calculating the matching diameter dpdepending on the nominal dimension used in the relevant standards (either the nominal outside diameter, nominal inside diameter, or the minimum inside diameter), or whether it is the mean nominal wall thickness or nominal minimum
24、 wall thickness. The values for dpin Tables 6 to 8 are rounded off to the nearest half or whole millimetre. Each table gives the relevant technical delivery standard, the nominal dimens
26、ion used in the relevant standards, and diameter and wall thickness tolerances. Wall thicknesses are not only given in millimetres but are also expressed as the wall thickness/diameter ratio t/D, where necessary. The same conditions in the tables are expressed as the same equations and indicated by
27、a same equation number. The equations for calculating dpgiven in Table 2 are based on the preferred outside diameters and wall thicknesses specified in DIN EN 10216-1:2004-07, Table 5, and DIN EN 10216-2:2004-07, Table 6, and on the outside diameter and wall thickness tolerances specified in DIN EN

DIN 2559-2:2007-09 9 5 Joint preparation The matching diameter can be formed by means of a cutting (machining) or non-cutting (chipless) process. The prepared internal faces should have a smooth transition without projections and a
42、 surface roughness (max. height of the profile) Rz 100 m (Ra 12,5 m). Only tubes having the same matching diameter, with tolerances as in Table 1, may be joined. If matching diameters differ, the decision as to whether the tubes may be welded together shall be determined on the basis of the permissi
43、ble edge offset. When joining tubes having different wall thicknesses, or when joining tubes with different nominal diameters (outside vs. inside), the matching diameter determined on the basis of this standard will be different for each side of the joint. In this case the larger of the two matching
44、 diameters shall be selected, taking into consideration the fact that this is only possible when the resulting wall thickness is not smaller than the minimum allowable wall thickness specified in Table 9. This wall thickness may only be smaller than the minimum allowable wall thickness specified in
45、Table 9 if further calculations show that the remaining wall thickness is within the permissible limits. Working of the internal faces can be dispensed with if the existing inside diameter is dp, although this diameter may be larger than the matching diameter on the other side of the joint. Before w
46、elding, the weldability of the joint shall be established on the basis of the permissible edge offset. If the edge offset conditions are not met, another process shall be chosen, e.g. reducing, deposit welding, or widening. If the inside diameters of a joint to be welded are comparable, it is only n
47、ecessary to match the smaller inside diameter to the larger inside diameter, taking care that the remaining joint wall thickness is greater than the minimum allowable wall thickness tpspecified in Table 9. The wall thickness may only be smaller than the tpvalue specified in Table 9 if further calcul
48、ations show that the remaining wall thickness is within the specified limits. If, when welding tubes having the same nominal dimensions, the inside diameter of one side does not match, this diameter shall be measured again. If the re-measured value is smaller than the matching diameter required for
49、this particular joint, then the measured smaller diameter shall be adjusted to match the larger inside diameter of the other side, taking care that the specifications of Table 9 regarding the minimum allowable wall thickness are met. The adjusted wall thickness may only be smaller than tpas in Table 9 if further calculations show that the remaining wall thickness is within the permissible limits. .
