Annex A is informative. DIN 28030, Flange joints for process vessels consists

DIN and/or DKE shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. Amendments

、 This standard differs from DIN 28030-1:2003-06 as follows: a) the TRB (German technical rules on pressure vessels) are no longer cited; b) tables with pressure and temperature ratings are no longer included; c) bolts: Bolts are to be selected in accordance with the DIN EN 1515 series of standards;

、d) materials: Traceability and quality characteristics have been harmonized with DIN EN 1092-1 and the AD 2000 Merkbltter (German Pressure Vessel Code) (taking the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC into consideration); e) the standard has been editorially revised. The

、se flanges are classified according to the nominal sizes of chemical equipment as in DIN 28105. This standard applies to flanged joints as in: a) DIN 28031 for unpressurized process vessels; b) DIN 28033 and DIN 28034 for pressurized process vessels. It does not apply to pipe connections or valve co

、nnections. Pipe flanges according to DIN EN 1092-1 are usually only used for pipe connections and other similar types of connection (e.g. for nozzles and valves). Flanges for process vessels have smaller connecting dimensions than flanges for pipes etc. as in DIN EN 1092-1 and cannot be combined wit

、everal components (e.g. flange, bolts, gasket). The flanged joint design is particularly dependent on the combination of components used and the means of joining them. On a case-by-case basis it will be necessary to re-calculate the flange design due to the significant influence of the sealing param

、eters and the scatter of the bolt tightening method. The pressures listed in DIN 28033 and DIN 28034 are guidance values for the purposes of general orientation and pre-selection. 4 Flanges 4.1 Types, facings and design Types, facings and designs are specified in DIN 28031, DIN 28033 and DIN 28034.

、4.2 Connecting dimensions The connecting dimensions for flanged joints are largely determined by the flange outside diameter, facing type, the number and size of bolts, and the bolt circle diameter. Dimensions specified in DIN 28031, DIN 28033 and DIN 28034 ensure uniform connecting dimensions and a

、re based on the following considerations: a) the number of bolts is divisible by 4; b) the number of bolts is in a constant ratio to the vessel size (from size DN 400, the number of bolts = 0,04 nominal size); c) access to the bolts with a wrench is ensured; d) the bolt circle diameter is such that

、the gasket is sufficiently wide; e) the tolerances on the diameters of dished heads as in DIN 28011 and DIN 28013 have been taken into consideration. 4.3 Materials Materials as in DIN EN 1092-1 may be used for flanges as in DIN 28031, DIN 28033 and DIN 28034. Other materials shall be agreed between

、the buyer and the manufacturer. The flange manufacturer shall ensure traceability of the material. It shall not be possible to mistake the material for another material. 4.4 Manufacture and welding Flanges can either be seamless rolled, pressed or forged; bent from rolled sections and welded; cut as

、 strips from sheet products and bent and welded; flanges for unpressurized vessels and plate flanges for pressurized vessels of nominal sizes up to and including DN 800 can be cut from the sheet in circular sections. Rolled sections may be forged or rolled sections. DIN 28030-1:2013-09 6 Where strip

、s cut from sheet are used to manufacture the flange, the through-thickness direction of the sheet shall be perpendicular to the flange axis in the case of flanges as in DIN 28034. The welding process used shall be resistance welding and, in particular, flash butt welding. The welding and any necessa

Subsequent heat treatment can be necessary, for example when the forming process does not begin or en
