Previous editions DIN 28031: 1967-11, 1978-06, 1989-02, 2003-06 DIN 28031:2013-09 4 1 Scope This standard specifies dimensions, types and the designation of weld flanges for unpressurized process vessels. General requirements for flanges are speci

9、fied in DIN 28030-1. Tolerances (limit deviations) for flanges are specified in DIN 28030-2. DIN 28033 covers weld flanges for pressure vessels. DIN 28034 covers weld-neck flanges for pressure vessels. 2 Normative references The following documents, in whole or in part, are normatively referenced in

13、 Types, dimensions and designation 3.1 General Flange designs are shown in Figures 1 and 3. Dimensions and masses are specified in Table 1. 3.2 Types Type A, solid machined, as in Figure 1 with a facing finish as in DIN EN 1092-1, type A (flat face). Type B, basic flange for use on shells as in Figu

14、re 3 with weld preparation. NOTE For type B, a facing ring with a surface finish as for a type B1 facing as in DIN EN 1092-1 is used. Other surface finishes shall be agreed between the buyer and the manufacturer. Examples of flange joints are shown in Figures 2 and 4. Otherwise, flanges are to be su

15、pplied machined or unmachined at the manufacturer s discretion. 16、ted between two bolt holes. The bores are to be closed with a threaded plug or closed in a suitable manner at the manufacturers discretion. Flanges as in this standard are supplied by the flange manufacturer without test or vent bores. If the flange manufacturer is to provide test or vent bores, the

17、ir number and location shall be stated by the vessel manufacturer at the time of ordering. DIN 28031:2013-09 9 4 Marking Flanges are to be marked by the flange manufacturer with the following information: a) Manufacturers symbol; b) number of this standard; c) year of manufacture; d) type of flange; e) nominal size flange thickness; f) material; g) where appropriate, heat number and/or a suitable number indicating the traceability of the material, if the material certificate as in DIN EN 10204 so requires.
