14、 by the Normenausschuss Gastechnik (Gas Technology StandardsCommittee) and the DVGW Deutsche Vereinigung des Gas- und Wasserfaches e.V. (German Association of Gasand Water Engineers). The standard has been adopted as a DVGW Code of practice.DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598 and DIN EN 969 require that ductile

15、cast iron pipes be provided with a zinc coatingand a protective finishing layer, unless manufacturer and customer agree otherwise. These standards providegeneral information and describe the essential characteristics of the zinc coating and the finishing layer.The manufacturers instructions should b

16、e followed for installing and using pipes conforming to this standard.AmendmentsThis standard differs from the September 1982 edition of DIN 30674-3 and the May 1983 edition of DIN 30674-4in that it reflects recent technical developments and takes DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598 and DIN EN 969 intoconsiderat

28、 Requirements5.1 Pipe surfaceThe pipe surface shall fulfil the requirements set out in DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598 and DIN EN 969.5.2 Zinc coating5.2.1 MaterialPrimary zinc of class Z1 or Z2 as in DIN EN 1179 with a nominal zinc content of 99,99 % or 99,995 % shall beused for the coating.5.2.2 Mass and t

29、hicknessThe mean zinc coating mass per unit area shall be in accordance with DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598 and DIN EN 969.The zinc coating shall be uniformly thick throughout, except at the socket face, and shall be free of flaws. Anyuncoated spots shall be repaired as specified in DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598 a

30、nd DIN EN 969.5.3 Finishing layer5.3.1 Substrate (zinc-coated surface)The zinc-coated surface shall be free of dirt, oil, grease and moisture.5.3.2 MaterialMaterial for the finishing layer shall be compatible with zinc and shall not affect the anti-corrosive propertiesof the coating system. It shall

35、N EN 598and DIN EN 969.5.3.3.2 HygieneIf the finishing layer is to come into contact with drinking water, it shall meet the stipulations of the relevant KTW-Empfehlungen and the DVGW-Arbeitsblatt W 270.6 Testing6.1 Pipe surfaceThe pipe surface shall be checked visually for cleanness.6.2 Zinc coating

36、6.2.1 Zinc compositionIf requested, the supplier shall provide proof of conformity of the zinc composition with DIN EN 1179.6.2.2 Mass and appearance of zinc coatingThe mean zinc mass per unit area shall be determined gravimetrically as in DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598 orDIN EN 969, by establishing the mas

37、s of a test piece before and after applying the zinc coating. Alternatively,the zinc mass per unit area may be directly determined on the pipe using another method, such as X-rayfluorescent analysis or chemical analysis. In arbitration cases, quantitative chemical analysis shall be used.The zinc coa

38、ting shall be checked visually for uniformity.6.3 Finishing layer6.3.1 Substrate (zinc-coated surface)The zinc-coated pipe surface shall be checked visually for cleanness.6.3.2 Quality of coating materialAn airless spraying test shall be carried out using the coating material in its as delivered con

39、dition and withoutfurther thinning at (23 t 3)C to determine whether the extender is sufficiently fine-grained.In the case of bituminous coating materials and synthetic resin varnishes, testing shall be carried out using themethods referred to in tables 1 and 2.6.3.3 Thickness and hygiene6.3.3.1 Thi

40、cknessThe dry film thickness shall be determined as in DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598 and DIN EN 969. Testing may becarried out directly on the pipe or using a test piece. The finishing layer shall be checked visually for uniformity.6.3.3.2 HygieneTesting for establishing whether the finishing layer conform
