This standard supersedes DIN 7964:1990-07 which was withdrawn without replacement in September 1999. DIN 6929:2013-08 4 1 Scope This standard specifies requirements for M3 to M30 bolts and screws
6、(“bolts”, for short) with various head styles and a diameter of the unthreaded portion of the shank smaller than the minor diameter. It covers bolts with two types of shank designs: short (K) and long (L). These bolts can be designed as captive fasteners, e.g. by using a snap ring, where required, a
7、s a safeguard to prevent the screw from working loose (see Annex A). Although such bolts have a reduced shank, they are not considered waisted shank bolts or expansion bolts. The application of this standard is also permissible analogously for non-standardized products. Due to the shank diameter, th

13、wo shank designs with different lengths. These two shank designs can be combined analogously with head styles according to DIN and ISO Standards (see Table 2). The short design is primarily intended for use in cases where the bolt is to be screwed into a threaded hole (e.g. for fastening a cover or lid to a housing). Bolts covered in this standard have a shank diameter that is smaller than the minor diameter of the thread and equal to only about 75 % of the thread major
20、 diameter. The bolts are therefore not capable of accommodating the minimum ultimate tensile loads of their respective property classes, and failure is liable to occur when the corresponding proof loads are applied. As a result, any calculation made shall be based on reduced loads and torques. DIN 6
21、929:2013-08 7 6 Designation The designation of bolts and screws as specified in this standard shall consist of: the name of product; the number of this DIN standard; the thread size; the nominal length; shank design (K or L or a defined length); the symbol denoting the head style (see Table 2); the
22、symbol denoting the thread end (see DIN EN ISO 4753); designation of the property class or material; any further details, e.g. the type of cross recess.
