This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Machinery Dir
6、ective”, Directive 98/37/EC, (valid until 28 December 2009) and the “revised Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, which takes effect on 29 December 2009, and which apply to agglomerators that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilit
7、ate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of the directives. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Dire
8、ctive (“presumption of conformity”). The European Standards referred to in clause 2 of this document have been published as the corresponding DIN EN Standards with the same number. 30、 Introduction This European Standard is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100:2003. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. When provisions of this type C standard are different f
31、rom those that are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built in accordance with the provisions of this type C standard. 32、008 (E) 6 1 Scope This European Standard specifies the essential safety requirements applicable to the design and construction of agglomerators used to densify plastic scrap, reducing its size and/or volume. The limits of the agglomerator are as follows: the outer edge of the feed opening, or outer
33、edge of the fixed feed device (e.g. hopper) or the interface between the feed system (e.g. conveyor) and the agglomerator chamber and the outer edge of the discharge opening of the agglomerator chamber or the interface between the agglomerator chamber and the discharge system. Only the significant h
34、azards listed in Clause 4 and dealt with in Clause 5 are subject to this European Standard. This European Standard does not deal with hazards caused by processing materials (such as Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Polyurethane (PU) foam) which, when heated, may lead to a risk of fire and release of t
35、oxic gases. This European Standard does not deal with hazards caused by upstream and/or downstream equipment.
