4、foreword This standard includes safety requirements. This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 274 “Aircraft ground support equipment” (Secretariat: DIN, Germany). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Luft- und Raumfahrt (Aerospace Stand

5、ards Committee), Technical Committee NA 131-08-02 AA Bodengerte. This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Machinery Directive”, Directive 98/37/EC (valid until 28 December 2009), and the “revised Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, w

6、hich takes effect on 29 December 2009, and which apply to machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of the directives. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal

7、of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). 31、 specifies health and safety requirements, as well as some functional and performance requirements for nitrogen or oxygen units intended to be used for all aircraft types commonly in service in civil air transport. The minimum essential criteria are considered to be of primary importance in providin

32、g safe, serviceable, economical and practical nitrogen or oxygen units. Deviations from the recommended criteria should occur only after careful consideration, extensive testing, risk assessment and thorough service evaluation have shown alternative methods or conditions to be satisfactory. This doc

33、ument is a Type C standard as stated in !EN ISO 12100“. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this document. When provisions of this Type C standard are different from those which are stated in Type A or B s

34、tandards, the provisions of this Type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this Type C standard. 35、echnical requirements to minimise the hazards listed in Clause 4 which can arise during the commissioning, operation and maintenance of nitrogen or oxygen units when carried out in accordance with the specifications given by the manufacturer or his authorised representative. It also takes into accou

36、nt some performance requirements recognised as essential by authorities, aircraft and ground support equipment (GSE), manufacturers as well as airlines and handling agencies. This document applies to: all types of mobile nitrogen units and oxygen units with transportable gas cylinders interchangeabl

37、e for filling purposes; equipment to be carried with other GSE or vehicles, e.g. skid mounted units, intended for the manual refill of gaseous nitrogen or oxygen on aircraft (Examples see Annex A). NOTE Generally oxygen units are used under aircraft maintenance conditions, not under commercial servi

38、cing conditions. This document does not establish requirements for noise and vibration. Noise and vibration are dealt with respectively in EN 1915-4 and EN 1915-3. This document does not deal with hazards in respect to a standard automotive chassis and from other vehicles on the apron. This Part of
