National foreword This standard includes safety requirements. This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 202 “Foundry machinery Safety” (Secretariat: DI

5、N, Germany). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee), Section Gieereimaschinen. Representatives of manufacturers and users of abrasive blasting equipment for the foundry sector, and of the employers lia

6、bility insurance associations contributed to this standard. Amendment of the European Machinery Directive has made it necessary to review the previously valid standard, EN 1248:2001, in terms of the essential requirements of the new European Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC. This standard contains sp

7、ecifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the new “Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, and which apply to abrasive blasting equipment that is either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance w

8、ith the essential requirements of the directive. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of con

9、formity”). The European Standards referred to in clause 2 and in the bibliography of this document have been published as the corresponding DIN EN or DIN EN ISO Standards with the same number. For the International Standards referred to there are no national standards available, except for the follo

10、wing: ISO 3864-1 similar to DIN 4844-1 Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 1248:2002-04 as follows: a) An informative Annex ZB dealing with the relationship between this European Standard and the essential requirements of EU Directive 2006/42/EC has been included. b) The relevant specificat

11、ions of the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC have been taken into account. c) In clause 2, the following normative references have been dropped: EN 294, EN 418, EN 563 and EN 954-1. d) In clause 2, the following normative references have been added: EN 842, EN 981, EN ISO 7731, EN ISO 13732-1 and

DIN EN 1248:2010-06 EN 1248:2001+A1:2009 (E) 5 Introduction !This European Standard is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100. The machinery concerned

31、 and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over

32、the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard. Where for clarity an example of a preventative measure is given in the text, this should not be considered as the only possible solution. Other solutions can be

33、used as far as they fulfil correctly the criteria expressed in the requirement. This European Standard assumes, that the equipment is operated and maintained by trained personnel.“ 1 Scope This standard specifies requirements to be met by the manufacturer of abrasive blasting equipment for the fores

34、eeable significant hazards due to design, construction and installation, during commissioning, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of the equipment which employ either centrifugal force or compressed air as a means of accelerating abrasive to achieve the desired result. Abrasive blasting equi

35、pment covers: centrifugal blasting machines; air blasting machines; loading, conveying and unloading systems for the workpieces. See Annex A for more details. This standard covers all foreseeable significant hazards which could be encountered during the lifetime of the machine as listed in clause 5.

36、 This standard does not apply to: mobile centrifugal blasting equipment; mobile air blasting equipment; wet blasting equipment; the general works compressed air supply system.
