This document is Part 1 of the revised edition of DIN EN 1866:2006-03 which is now divided into three parts. This part specifies the characteristics and performance

5、of mobile fire extinguishers, as well as the test methods to be used. Part 2 “Additional requirements to EN 1866-1 for the construction, resistance to pressure and mechanical tests for extinguishers with a maximum allowable pressure equal to or lower than 30 bar” and Part 3 “Additional requirements

6、to EN 1866-1 for pressure resistance of CO2extinguishers” of the EN 1866 series are at draft stage. When they are published as full standards DIN EN 1866:2006-03 will be withdrawn. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. D

Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 1866:2006-03 as follows: a) The standard has been divided into three parts. b) The Foreword has been revised and references to the Pressure Equipment Directive, Directive 97/2

8、3/EC “of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 May 1997 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States concerning pressure equipment” have been deleted. c) Requirements for pressure-containing parts in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (Direc-tive 97/23/EEC) have bee

28、ules of design, type testing and inspection during manufacturing, ratings and classification of mobile fire extinguishers and test methods to be used. It applies to mobile fire extinguishers with a total mass above 20 kg for powder, water based and CO2extinguishers. This standard applies to mobile f

29、ire extinguishers that are manoeuvred by an operator on foot only. It does not cover fire tests for class C and class F fires, but the used extinguishing media can be effective on these types of fire. Class D fires are considered to be a very specialist application and are not included in this stand

30、ard, but may be made the object of national specification. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. 45、her is described by the type of extinguishing medium it contains. This standard covers: powder extinguishers; water based extinguishers; CO2extinguishers. Water based extinguishers, including foam, containing different proportions of antifreeze shall be treated as separate and distinct models especi

46、ally for the purpose of testing the range of operating temperatures (see 6.1.1), electrical conductivity (see clause 7.3), and fire ratings. EN 1866-1:2007 (E) 8 5.2 Components of extinguisher A wheeled fire extinguisher consists of the following components: extinguisher body; wheels; gripping devic

47、e; body fittings that are attached or screwed to the body, and include the following: cylinder for propellant (not applicable for stored pressure extinguishers); control device; hose assembly; main closure; operating device. 6 Requirements 6.1 Effective range of operating temperatures 6.1.1 General

48、Extinguishers shall be able to operate between TSmax and TSmin: TSmaxfor all extinguishers: shall be 60 C or higher; TSminfor all powder extinguishers and CO2extinguishers: shall be - 20 C, - 30 C or lower; TSminfor water based extinguishers: shall be + 5 C, 0 C, - 5 C, - 10 C, - 15 C, - 20 C, - 25

49、C, -30 C or lower. For water based extinguishers without any protection against freezing. TSmin shall be + 5 C; TSmaxand TSminclaimed by the manufacturer shall be used for the tests. 6.1.2 Requirements After the test described in A.6, the requirements for all extinguishers are as follows: shall operate satisfactorily; discharge shall commence within 10 s of the opening of the control valve; cartridge operated extinguishers shall be activated 30 s prior to opening the control valve; duration of operation shall
