5、The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Werkstofftechnologie (Technology of Materials Standards Committee), Working Committee NA 145-01-04 AA Probenahme und Prfverfahren fr Hartmetalle. The publication of DIN EN ISO 3738-1 and the simultaneous withdrawal of DI

6、N ISO 3738-1:1991-07 (German version of ISO 3738-1:1982) were necessary because ISO 3738-1:1982 was adopted at European level as EN ISO 3738-1 and the requirements of the CEN standstill policy regarding the adoption of European Standards at national level must be met; however, the content of DIN EN

7、ISO 3738-1 and that of DIN ISO 3738-1:1991 do not differ aside from a few editorial changes and the correction referred to in the amendments clause below. The International Standard ISO/R 80 referred to in clause 2 has been withdrawn, and was replaced by ISO 6508:1986 (now withdrawn); the current re

8、placement is ISO 6508-1. ISO/R 716, also referred to in clause 2, was withdrawn in December 1986. The verification and calibration of Rockwell hardness testing machines is now covered by ISO 6508-2.
