Normenausschuss Wasserwesen (NAW) 2010-11-01 3 DIN SPEC 19674-2:2011-02 Introduction This DIN SPEC is the result of the work of a group of experts consisting of experienced representatives of the plastics industry. The DIN SPEC is intended to be a step on the way to f
、urther standardization in an area not yet covered by any DIN standard. The individual user is responsible for verifying whether the DIN SPEC is suitable for his purpose and whether the current level of knowledge is taken into account. DIN SPEC 19674 specifies the requirements for a piping system and
、 its components made from glass fibre reinforced polyethylene (PE-GF). The piping system is intended to be used for water supply, including the conveyance of raw water prior to treatment, for drainage and sewerage under pressure, vacuum sewerage systems, and for systems for the conveyance of water f
、or general purposes. With respect to the possible effects of products in accordance with DIN SPEC 19674 on the quality of water for human consumption (potable water), the following shall be considered: a) this specification does not indicate whether the products may be used without restrictions; b)
、products intended for use in water supply systems shall conform to national regulations and to test requirements which ensure the fitness for purpose regarding the contact with water for human consumption. For compounds, the requirements and test methods of DIN SPEC 19674-1 apply. This part of DIN S
、PEC 19674 specifies the characteristics of pipes made from glass fibre reinforced polyethylene (PE-GF). 1 Scope This part of DIN SPEC 19674 specifies the requirements for pipes made from glass fibre reinforced polyethylene (PE-GF) for pressure piping systems (main and connecting pipes) intended for
、the conveyance of water for human consumption, including raw water prior to treatment, for drainage and sewerage under pressure, vacuum sewerage systems, and for systems for the conveyance of water for general purposes. NOTE 1 In this specification, DN refers to the inside diameter of pipes and fitt
、ings. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this specification. In conjunction with the other parts of DIN SPEC 19674, it applies to pipes from PE-GF, their joints with each other, with other PE-GF components, and to components from other materials intended for us
、e under the following conditions: a) a maximum allowable operating pressure (MOP) up to and including 22 bar; b) an operating temperature of 20 C as the reference temperature. NOTE 2 DIN SPEC 19674 includes specifications for maximum allowable operating pressures and specifies requirements for the c
、olour of components and the use of additives. It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selection from these criteria while taking into account their own particular requirements as well as any relevant national guidelines or regulations and installation practices
、 or codes. NOTE 3 For applications at constant operating temperatures higher than 20 C and up to 40 C, see DIN SPEC 19674-1, Annex A. 4 DIN SPEC 19674-2:2011-02 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
