SCOPE. This commercial item descripti
2、on (CID) covers the general requirements for creeper, mechanics. Creeper, mechanics covered by this CID are intended for commercial/industrial applications. 2. CLASSIFICATION/PART OR IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (PIN). This CID uses a classification system which is included in the PIN as shown in the follo
3、wing example (see 7.1). AA50313 - 001 CID number Dash number 2.1 Dash size. Dimensions (Dash 001): length no less than 35 inches (889 mm); width no less than 15 inches (381 mm), height from ground to creeper underside no less than 0.5 inch (12.7). 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Interface and physic
4、al dimensions. Creeper, mechanics supplied to this CID shall be as specified herein. It shall be of an industrial quality that complies with the salient characteristics herein. The creeper shall be new and the manufacturers current model at the time of the offer. 3.2 Characteristics. The Creeper, me
5、chanics r shall meet the following characteristics: a. Provides for balanced and stable support of user. b. Maneuvers on shop floor surfaces with even and uninterrupted movements that cause no resistance to rolling. c. Withstands loads as specified herein. Comments, suggestions, or questions on this

8、s, one near each corner. Certification shall be provided that the service life of the casters is at least one year. h. Manufactured to definite standards and tolerances that provides for interchangeability of respective parts between same models. i. Includes protective finish on parts that are not i
9、nherently corrosion resistant. j. Includes fastening devices that stay tight in service. 3.3 Performance. The creeper shall be such as to withstand, without more than 0.125 inch (3.18 mm) permanent set or deformation in any direction, structural failure or damage when subjected to the following: a.
10、An evenly distributed load of at least 300 pounds (136.08 kilograms) over the whole creeper. b. An evenly distributed load of at least 100 pounds (45.36 kilograms) over 50 percent of the headrest area. c. 50 cycles of a back and forth movement with creeper uniformly loaded with 200 pounds (90.72 kil
11、ograms) with the casters operating freely with no damage, sticking, binding, or loosening, and with no wearing of the caster flange thickness in excess of five (5) percent of the original thickness. The back and forth movement shall be no less than 36 inches (91.4 mm) in each direction. 3.4 Marking.
12、 Creeper, mechanics supplied to this CID shall be marked with the manufacturers (MFRs) Standard commercial PIN. (NOTE: The part number marked on the unit pack shall be the CID PIN.) 3.5 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable m
13、aterials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.6 Workmanship. Creeper, mechanics shall be processed in such a manner as to be uniform in qualit
14、y and shall be free from other defects that will affect life, serviceability, or appearance. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. PRODUC
15、T CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The following market acceptance criteria are necessary to document the quality of the product to be pro
17、vided under this CID: a. The company producing the item must have been producing a product meeting the requirements of this CID for at least 5 years. b. The company producing the item must have sold 100 units per year meeting this CID in the commercial marketplace over the past 2 years. 6. PACKAGING
18、. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order 7. NOTES. 7.1 PIN. The PIN should be used for Government purposes to buy commercial products to this CID. See section 2 for PIN format example. 7.2 Environmentally preferable material. Environmentally preferable mate
19、rials should be used to the maximum extent possible to meet the requirements of this specification. As of the dating of this document, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is focusing efforts on reducing 31 priority chemicals. The list of chemicals and additional information is available o
20、n their website http:/www.epa.gov/osw/hazard/wastemin/priority.htm. Included in the EPA list of 31 priority chemicals are cadmium, lead, and mercury. Use of these materials should be minimized or eliminated unless needed to meet the requirements specified herein (see Section 3). 7.3 Commercial and G

For ordering purposes, inventory control, and submission of these creeper, mechanics to DLA Land and Maritime under the Military Parts Control Advisory Group (MPCAG) evaluation program, CAGE code 58536 should be used. 7.4 Source of documents.
