SCOPE. This commercial item
3、description (CID) covers solid taper shank arbors, which are used to adapt a drill chuck having a tapered mount hole to a drilling machine having a tapered mount hole. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The arbors shall be of the following sizes as listed in table I, which are based on the number and type taper on

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Materials. The arbors shall
9、 be made from high grade steel suitable for the purpose intended. Each taper shall be precision ground and shall conform to dimensions and tolerances of ASME B5.10, “Machine Tapers (Self Holding and Steep Taper Series)“. 3.2 Finish. Surfaces shall be smoothly ground and free from wheel and chatter m
10、arks and other imperfections that may affect their accuracy, appearance, or serviceability. 3.3 Roundness. Each arbor shall be round within 0.001 inch total indicator reading. 3.4 Nameplate. a. Nomenclature. b. Manufacturers name. c. Manufacturers model designation. d. Taper size (see table I). 4. R
11、EGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The products
12、provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conforman
13、ce. 5.2 Market acceptability. The product offered must have been previously sold either to the government or on the commercial market. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking.
