Abstract. This description covers the r
2、equirements for glove inserts which are intended for use by all Military services. Classification. The glove inserts shall be in the following sizes: Small, Medium, Large SALIENT CHARACTERI ST ICs *Description. The glove inserts shall be ambidextrous design with knitted hands, fingers and thumbs. Al
3、l parts of the glove insert with the exception of the cuffs shall be knit seamless with a plain (jersey) stitch. The cuffs shall be knit seamless with a mock rib with an elastic yarn laid in every other course and two elastic yarns inserted around the edge of the cuff. The two elastic yarns shall be
4、 overedged stitched twice around and overlapped not less than 1/4 inch. The gloves inserts shall be knit with one end of yarn as specified and shall be made on a fully automatic, 84 needle (Per Side), 13 cut flat bed knitting machine. 7、ERIAL. *Yarn. The yarn for knitting the gloves shall be a 55% acrylic, 25% wool, and 20% hollow-core polyester blend. Acrylic staple, wool, and polyester staple shall be blended, spun, and twisted into a 2/24 worsted count yarn with 10.5 turns per inch for the singles and 5.5 turns per inch for the
8、ply. The acrylic shall be 3 denier 4-1/2 inches nominal staple. The wool shall be virgin fleece not lower in grade than 54s U.S. standard. The polyester shall be 5.5 denier, 12 to 18% void, 4-1/2 inches nominal staple. Elastic yarn. The elastic yarn for every other course of the cuff shall be made o
9、f spandex 210 denier (nominal size) with an inner and outer covering of 100 denier, 2 ply stretch nylon yarn. “Color. The color of all parts of the finished glove shall approximate Brown 436. The dyed glove inserts shall conform to the standard sample for shade and shall show good fastness to launde
10、ring and perspiration when tested in accordance with test methods 5614 and 5680 of FED-STD-191. *Dimensions. The dimensions of the finished gloves shall be as specified in Table I. In addition, the glove insert shall be constructed so that the thumb length shall be 85-90% of the middle finger length

Each glove shall have a combination identification, size and instruction label described as type VI, class 14
16、 of DDD-L-20. The color of the label shall be approximately 1-1/2 inches wide and 1-1/4 inches long. The width shall be sewn onto the outside of the insert at the hem of the back hand. The label shall show colorfastness to laundering and contain the following information: GLOVE INSERT CW LIGHTWEIGHT

The glove inser- shall be laundered utilizing formula II of FM 10-280 and air dry. DO NOT TUMBLE DRY OR BLEACH. *Machine/hand laundry. Use permanent press
21、 wash cycle or hand wash using warm water (90 degrees F) and mild laundry detergent or soap and air dry. DO NOT TUMBLE DRY OR USE BLEACH. QUALITY ASSURANCE *Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product
22、 conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on co
23、ntractor QA systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Requlatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in ac
24、cordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable. Quality conformance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. End item visual examination. Each lot of glove inserts shall be examined for consumer type defects
25、, defined as follows: *Defects in design, construction, or workmanship; any variation in size or color in gloves of a pair; any component full, tight, or twisted; any hole, needle chew, cut or tear, or any spot or stain clearly noticeable; elastic yarn not laid in every other course; not specified n
26、umber of elastic yarns inserted around top edge of cuff; elastic yarns not overedged twice around and overlapped less than 1/4 inch; not properly mated; not labeled as specified. The lot size shall be expressed in units of one glove. The sample unit shall be one glove, and the selection shall be by

The glove inserts shall be examined for conformance to the dimensions specified in Table I. The lot size shall be express
28、ed in units of one glove insert. The sample unit shall be one glove insert and the selection shall be by pairs. Any glove insert not within the specified tolerance shall be classified a defect. PACKAG I NG Packaqinq. Ten pairs of glove inserts of one size only shall be neatly stacked in a bundle and
29、 securely tied with tape or twine. Packinq. One hundred twenty pairs of glove inserts (twelve bundles) of one size only shall be packed in a fiberboard shipping container conforming to RSC-L, Type CF (variety SW) or SF, class domestic, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Inside dimensions of each shipping conta
30、iner shall approximate 22 inches in length, 10 inches in width, and 6-1/2 inches in depth. Four ounces of flaked naphthalene shall be uniformly distributed throughout the contents of each shipping container. Each container shall have the contents completely covered on the top and bottom with a sheet
31、 of 30-pound minimum basis weight kraft paper conforming to A-A-203. Each container shall be closed in accordance with method II as specified in the appendix of PPP-B-636. Palletization. Gloves packed as specified shall be palletized in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. Markinq. In additi
32、on to any special marking required by the contact or purchase order, bundles, shipping containers, and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD- 129. NOTES Intended use.
