Abstract. This document covers o
2、ne type of ammunition pocket made from nylon duck, nylon tape, nylon webbing and miscellaneous hardware. The pocket is used to carry various types of ammunition. The pocket may be carried suspended from the shoulder or looped from the equipment belt. Salient characteristics. The ammunition magazine
3、pocket shall be water reDellent treated, 5-1/2 inches wide, 3-1/4 inches in depth and 10-374 inches in height, fabricated from Camouflage Green 483 nylon duck, Camouflage Green 483 nylon tape, and Camouflage Green 483 nylon webbing. 6、-A-5 5084 Material. The nylon duck cloth shall be 12.5 ounces per square yard, water repellent treated, conforming to class 2, color Camouflage Green 483 of MIL-C-43375. The cut edges of the nylon cloth are subject to fraying during the process of handling the cut parts during fabrication of the poc
7、ket case. It has been found that fusing the cut edges of the cloth will prevent fraying. The 3 inch wide webbing for the belt loop shall conform to type VIIIa, color Camouflage Green 483 of MIL-W-4088. The webbing shall be resin impregnated in accordance with class R of MIL-W-27265. The 1 inch wide
8、webbing for the inside strap shall conform to type III, color Camouflage Green 483 of MIL-W-43668. The 2 inch wide webbing for the sling shall conform to type VIIIB, color Camouflage Green 483. The nylon tape for binding shall conform to type III, 1 inch wide of MIL-T-5038. The tape shall be dyed Ca
9、mouflage Green 483. The polyester thread shall conform to type I, class 1, sub-class B of V-T-285. The thread shall be dyed Camouflage Green 483 and shall show fastness to weathering equal to or better than the standard sample. When no standard sample is available, the thread shall show “good“ fastn
10、ess to weathering. The slide loop shall be steel, black enamel finish, conforming to class 3, style 2, size 2 inch (construction A) of MIL-L-3851. The strap fastener loop shall be steel wire, black enamel finish, conforming to type III, style E, 2-1/16 by 1/4 inch of MIL-L-11075. The grommet and spu
11、r washer shall be brass, black chemical finish, conforming to type III, class 3, size No. O of MIL-G-16491. The snap fastener shall conform to style 1, finish 2 of MIL-F-10884 and MS 27977. The components shall consist of a socket conforming to MS 27977-3Bf a stud eyelet base conforming to MS 27977-
12、8Bf and a washer conforming to MS 27977-10B. All ends of nylon webbing shall be fused, The apparatus used to fuse the webbing ends shall be capable of providing sufficient heat to provide a smooth edge with the ends of the webbing yarns all fused together, Location marks shall not be drilled except

The finished measurements shall conform to the tolerances as follows: (see figures 1 any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; label missing, incorrect, or illegible;
14、measurement of item not as specified. Webbing and tape not firmly and tightly woven, edges frayed or scalloped. Webbing ends not fused. Hardware, general broken or malformed, failing to serve intended purpose; corroded areas, burr or sharp edges. Size, type, class, or style not as specified. Open se
15、ams, raw edges, wrong seam or incorrect stitch type. Dimensional Examination. The finished pockets shall conform to the dimensions specified. Any dimension that is not within the established tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The sample unit shall be one pocket; the inspection level shall be
16、 S-3 and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 6.5. Packaqinq Examination. The fully packaged shipping containers shall be examined in accordance with defects listed below. The lot size shall be the number of shipping containers in the inspection lot. The inspection leve

The pocket shall be examined for fit of the magazine into the pocket
20、 and the closure of the flap. Pocket too small, i.e, magazine fails to fit properly within the pocket. The magazine shall be inserted into the pocket with the open end face down whether worn on the right or the left. It shall be possible to insert two, M-16, 20 round magazines within the pocket with
