Abstract. This document covers two types of cotton duck bags for soiled clothes.

2、The type II bag is used as a general all purpose laundry bag for hand-carry in those instances where the conveyor or casters are not indicated. The type III bag is used by the Navy for storing bedding and linens aboard ship and requires the mildew resistant and water repellent treatment. Classificat

3、ion. The bag shall be in the following types: Type II - Bag, Soiled Clothes, Large Type III - Bag, Coiled Clothes, Intermediate Salient Characteristics. The two types of cotton duck bags for soiled clothes shall conform in all respects to figures I, II and III and as specified herein. a Beneficial c

6、A-A-55 1 1 4 m 74 0121147 582 m A-A-55114 * Y Material. Cloth, Duck, Cotton. The cloth shall conform to type I, No. 10 hard texture, 14.4 - 15.8 ounces per square yard of CCC-C-419. The cloth for type III shall be unbleached, desized, water- repellent and mildew-resistant treated in accordance w

7、ith class B treatment of CCC-D-950. Thread. The thread shall be polyester, natural in color, and shall conform to type I or II, class 1, subclass A, size FF of V- T-285. Cord, Cotton. For type II bags, the cord shall conform to type I, class 1, No. 6, 3/16 inch diameter, of T-C-571. For type III bag

8、s, the cord shall conform to type I, class 3, No. 6, 3/16 inch diameter, of T-C-571. Grmunets, Metallic. For type II bags, the grommets with washers shall conform to type III, class 3, No. 4 of MIL-G-16491. For type III bags, the grommets with washers shall conform to type III, class 1, No. 4 of MIL

9、G-16491. Markinas. Identification markings shall conform to type IV, class 5 of DDD-L-20 and shall be applied in the location shown on ths figures. The medical services symbol shall conform to type I of MS 16686 and shall appear on all type II and III bags in the size and locations indicated on the

10、 figures. The letters “US“, and nomenclature of the item shall be applied in the size characters and in the location indicated on the figures and shall conform to type IV, class 9 of DDD-L-20. Class 9 markings shall be clearly legible after subjection to accelerated laundering. Markings are not requ

11、ired for type III bag when furnished for Naval shipboard use. Sizes and Measurements. The finished bags shall conform to the sizes and measurements shown in figures I, II and III. Workmanship. After completion, the finished bags shall be thoroughly cleaned, and all loose thread, lint, and foreign ma

12、tter removed. Praduct Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and

13、basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government. One (i) Product Demonstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this con

15、perform in accordance with the Commercial Item Description specified above. Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality as

16、surance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on contractor QA systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ens

17、uring that all products or supplies submitted to the government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Examination. Bag lots shall be inspected in accordance with “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes“, ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society fo

18、r Quality Control. Visual Examination. The bags shall be examined for the defects listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of bags. The sample unit is one bag. The inspection level shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shal

19、l be 10.0. Defects. The bag shall be examined for the following defects: any hole, cut, tear, color not as specified; any broken or missing yarn; any cut, break or abrasion in the cord; grommets improperly set, clinched loosely, clinched excessively tight, cutting fabric; grommet or washer become di

20、sengaged; grommet has corroded area, burr or sharp edge; open seam; raw edges caught in stitching; thread breaks; needle chews; skipped stitches not overstitched; seam pleated; stitch tension loose, resulting in an exposed bobbin or top thread; stitch tension tight, as evidenced by puckering on seam

21、s; chain portion of stitching indicated by “2“ on drawing shows on outside of bag; any part not cut in conformance with specified requirement; any component or required operation omitted; hems formed on outside of bag; drawstring not threaded through grommets or both ends of cord not threaded throug

22、h grommet; ends of drawstring not overhand knotted; handles not constructed as indicated on drawing; body formed with more than two pieces of fabric; marking missing, incorrect, or illegible; grease or oil stains; measurement of item not as specified. Dimensional Examination. The finished bags shall

23、 conform to the dimensions specified. Any dimension that is not within the established tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The fully packaged shipping containers shall be examined in accordance with defects listed below. The lot size shall be the number of shipping containers in t

Fifteen bags shall be packed in a fiberboard box conforming to style RSC-L, g

29、rade 275 of PPP-B-636. The box shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. Palletization. Boxes shall be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance with bondin

30、g means C and D, or film bonding means F or G. Pallet pattern shall be in accordance with the appendix of MIL-STD-147. Markinq. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129. Domestic.
