Abstract. This description covers the requirements for one typ
2、e of laundry bag fabricated from nylon duck material. The bags are intended for use by Naval personnel serving aboard ship for storing bedding, linens and clothing to be laundered. Salient Characteristics. The laundry bag shall be cylindrical in shape with a draw-string closure, and two carry handle
3、s, one on the side wall and the other on the bottom of the bag. Handles shall be cut from a piece of nylon cloth 12 inches (30.6 cm) - + 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) long by 5 inches (12.7 cm) t 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) wide for one bag handle. Fold piece in half lengthwise turning under raw edges and stitching lengt
4、hwise, 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) 2 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) from edge. When handles are attached to the bag the handle free opening shall be 6 inches (15.24 cm) _f 1/2 inch (12 mm). Size 2 grommet, diameter after insertion (inches) shall be .375. Size 3 grommet, diameter after insertion (inches) shall be
12、 .438. Attach 8 grommets with washers, each shall be centered on hem and equally spaced round circumference. The grommet washer shall finish on the inside of bag. Holes punched to receive the grommets shall be smaller than the outside diameter barrel and shall be securely clinched without cutting th
13、e materials. Thread. The thread shall be a twisted multiple cord (ply) construction with a bonded or a soft finish size E. The color shall be natural white AG, Cable No. 66049. Draw-strinq. The draw-string shall be 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) diameter nylon rope conforming to MIL-R-17343. The draw-string shal
14、l be 8 foot (2.44 meters) length of rope (minimum) that has been seared and knotted at each end and shall be installed by threading through 8 grommets. Label/markinq. The label/marking shall be heat transfer (decalcomania) or direct printing, stamping, or stenciling. The bags shall be marked approxi
15、mately 3 inches (7.6 cm) below top edges of bags. The printing shall bear the following inscription: BAG, LAUNDRY (100% NYLON) NAME OF CONTRACTOR: CONTRACT NO.: DLA-100-00-0-0000 (Example) STOCK NO.: 8465-00-000-0000 (Example) Workmanship. The finished bags shall conform to the quality established b
16、y this commercial item description. Product Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Ev
17、aluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government. One (1) Product Demonstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items de
18、livered under this contract. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices.
20、 The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on contractor QA systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all pro
21、ducts or supplies submitted to the government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Examination. Bag lots shall be inspected in accordance with “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes“, ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control.
22、 Visual Examination. The bag shall be examined for the defects listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of bags. The sample unit is one bag. The inspection level shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. Defects.
23、The bag shall be examined for the following defects: any hole, cut, tear, smash, float, needle chew, mend, burn, drill hole, color not as specified; any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; seams twisted, puckered or pleated; marking missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item
24、 not as specified; handles missing or misplaced, free opening less than 5-1/2 inches (14.0 cm) or more than 6-1/2 inches (16.5 cm); grommets omitted, malformed, damaged, misplaced, clinched too tight cutting fabric, insecurely attached, not size, style or finish specified; rope end not seared or kno
25、tted; component missing, open seams, rope omitted, not as specified, not minimum length specified. Dimensional Examination. The finished bag shall conform to the dimensions specified. Any dimension that is not within the established tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The sample unit shall be
