Abstract. This document covers

2、 a shoulder strap which is used with a leather belt and is a component of Military Police equipment. Shoulder straps are intended for use by members of the Military Police of the U. S. Army and are designed to support a leather holster which is attached to the base of the strap with a double hook. S

3、alient Characteristics. The shoulder strap, side arm, shall be made of leather components, the grain side of the leather shall be dyed black, and smooth finished, insuring a long-lasting lustrous finish. The color of the flesh side shall be natural, flesh side edges shall be rounded, and skived. Ite

4、m shall consist of a base, shoulder strap, standing loop, and sliding loop. Shoulder strap shall be fabricated with grain side of leather on exterior side, adjustment holes shall be 1/8 inch dia. with 3/4 inch equal spaces between 18 reqd holes. A fastener male and female portion (style 2A) shall be

Standing loop and a 7/8 inch wire buckle shall be secured to opposite end, and attached by machine stitching, standing loop will also be stapled or riveted to strap. Bot

8、h standing and sliding loops shall be machine stitched. llD1l rings shall be used to attached shoulder strap to base. Two sets of male, female snap fasteners shall be provided to both ends of base and snapped on flesh side. Base shall have two slots to accommodate belt, that is used with item. Botto

9、m of base will have N0.4094 eyelet and N0.4096 washer (washer on flesh side) to accommodate holster. U.S. shall be indented in 3/8 inch characters on top, middle portion, of base. See figures 1 and 2 included within. Material. Leather. The shoulder strap and base shall be 1/8 inch thick leather with

10、 tolerances, plus 1/64 and minus 1/128, the leather shall conform to types I, II, III, or IV, class I of KK-L-271. The loops shall be 3/32 inch leather as above. Thread, Dolvester. The stitching shall be, twisted soft multiple cord, normal elongation, general purpose polyester thread size 3, the thr

11、ead shall be black and show good fastness to perspiration. All stitching shall conform to type 301 of FED-STD-751 with a 1/8 inch stitching margin. Sealer. Edges of leather shall be finished using tragacanth gum sealer (commercial grade N0.3). Buckle. wire, brass. The buckle shall be brass wire, 7/8

12、 inch, conforming to type VI, class 1 of MIL-B-2331. Evelet and washer, brass. The eyelet N0.4094 and washer N0.4096, style A shall conform to MIL-E-20652 and shall be natural bright brass followed by a coating of lacquer. Fastener, snap. brass. Snap fastener shall conform to style 2A of MIL-F-10884

13、 female components shall consist of a socket and a size 2 button except that the barrel of the button shall be of sufficient length to provide a full roll to hold the socket firmly. The male components shall consist of a stud and size 2 eyelet, snap fastener shall be in accordance with finish 2 (bl

14、ack enamel cap). StaDle, corrosion-resistina steel. Staple used for attaching standing loop, used as an alternate method of closing the sliding loop, it shall be corrosion-resisting steel wire conforming to condition B or C of 04-W-423. The leg length of the staple shall be sufficient to penetrate t

15、he required thickness of leather with allowance for a minimum clinch of 1/16 inch and a maximum clinch of 1/8 inch. Rivet. tubular. brass. Alternate method of attaching the standing loop, 9/64 inch nominal diameter 7/16 inch long conforming to type XII, class 2, grade F of FF-R-556. The rivet shall

17、 P407 or equal Rina, dee. The dee ring shall conform to class 1, 1 inch by 7/8 inch, configuration W of MIL-R-3390, bright brass will be followed by a coating of lacquer. Label/markinq. The label/marking shall be in accordance with the contract number and marking shall be indented in the leather in

18、 the size characters and in the locations shown on the drawing. WorkmanshiD. After completion, the finished shoulder strap, side arm shall be thoroughly cleaned, and all loose thread and foreign matter removed. Product Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of their intend

19、ed production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the

20、 government. One (1) Product Demonstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. Offerers are advised that the Product Demonstration Model does not relieve the successful offere

21、r of his responsibility to perform in accordance with the Commercial Item Description specified above. 9ualitv Assurance Certification. offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality ass

22、urance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on contractor QA systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensu

23、ring that all products or supplies submitted to the government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. The contractor shall certify that the product Examination. Shoulder straps lots shall be inspected in accordance with lgSampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attribu

24、tes“, ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control. Visual Examination. The shoulder straps shall be examined for the defects listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of shoulder straps. The sample unit is one strap. The inspection level shall be II and the acc

26、lowing defects: any hole, cut, tear, color not as specified; any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; measuremen, of item not as specified; edges of leather not rounded and skived on flesh side; any component not fabricated of the specified material; not fabricated with grain side of le

27、ather on exterior side of shoulder strap; any fastener not functioning properly; wrong stitch type; markings omitted, illegible, incorrect, not specified type or size, misplaced, or not applied in specified manner. Dimensional Examination. The finished shoulder straps shall conform to the dimensions

28、 specified. Any dimension that is not within the established tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The sample unit shall be one strap; the inspection level shall be S-3 and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. Packasins Examination. shall be examined in accord
