Abstract. This commercial item descr

2、iption covers the requirements for mens dress gloves. The gloves are intended for use by Military police and ceremonial activities personnel of the Department of Defense. Salient characteristics. The gloves shall be a full inseam, Montpelier pattern, hand trimmed, with continuous fourchette, “Q“ typ

3、e thumb, closed wrist design with elastic webbing. The cloth shall have no labile sulfur or nonfiberous content. Fiuure. Figure 1 is furnished for information purposes only. In the event of any inconsistencies between the written commercial item description and Figure 1, the commercial item descript

4、ion shall govern. 0 Materials Fabric, knitted, cotton, simplex. The basic fabric shall be cotton simplex, or a comparable 100% knitted cotton fabric, and the color shall be White shade number 3028. 7、n the warp end continues to move the same direction for 24 consecutive courses, after which, the direction of the courses in the opposite direction. A faint horizontal line occurs at each half repeat where the guide bars change direction. This represents one full repeat of the pattern. The cloth sha

8、ll be knit with nonravelling edges, sueded on both sides, and shall have a suppleness equal to or better than the standard sample. The yarn shall be made from cotton which has been carded, combed, and spun into singles yarn. The finished cloth shall be bleached and shall be supplemented with an opti

The test device sh

16、all be an apparatus 0 wherein the specimen is held between two clamps. the upper clamp shall be such that one gripping surface or jaw shall be an integral part of the rigid frame of the clamp. the face of the fixed jaw shall measure 1 inch by 1-1/2 or more inches with the long dimension perpendicula

17、r to the direction of application of the load. The lower clamp shall have similar jaws and, when weight is attached, shall weigh a total of 6 pounds. The jaws shall have smooth gripping surfaces, sufficiently flat and parallel to prevent slipping of the specimen during the test. The specimen shall b

18、e placed symmetrically in the clamps of the apparatus with the long dimension parallel and the short dimension at right angles to the direction of the application of the load. Using the specified guidelines, the specimen shall be aligned with one outside edge of the front jaws of each clamp. The pro

19、per weight shall be added to insure a total of 6 pounds (including the weight of the lower jaws). The load shall be applied for 15 seconds and the distance between jaws measured by a pair of dividers or other suitable instrument. The elongation at the required load shall be expressed as the percent

20、increase in the length of the specimen between the jaws. 22、l be White AH, C.A. 66050 and shall be a mercerized finish, machine thread, Ticket No. B, 3-ply and Ticket No. A, 3-ply of A-A-52094. Elastic webbinq. The elastic webbing shall be braided, 2 over and 2 under, unbleached, and 7/16 inch wide. A 2-inch length of elastic webbing shall be stretched to 3

23、inches. While holding under tension and using a 1/4 inch gage, zigzag stitch the length of the elastic to inside of palm at wrist 1/4 to 1/2 inch below base of thumb. After stitching, the relaxed elastic webbing shall measure 2 2 1/4 inches in length and shall be tacked at rubber used in the elastic

24、 webbing shall be 42. The webbing Option C and shall have a minimum of 12 elastic strands, 25 carriers and 68 yarns per inch in the filling when tested in accordance with ASTM-D3775-85. The marking shall be by heat transfer (decalcomania), direct printing, stamping, or stenciling, applied to the inside center back of wrist just above the hem, and shall not show on the outside of the glove; or a II nonwoven, spunbonded polyester cloth o

27、r nonwoven, 80/20 polyester/cellulose cloth, impregnated and coated with a permanent pigmented acrylic composition, mildew-resistant printed label may be used. This latter type of label shall be attached at center of back of wrist by catching the bottom of label in hem stitching. The label shall sho

28、w a minimum of class 4 to laundering when tested in accordance with AATCC 61-89. The finished gloves shall conform to the quality of product established by this document. shall not exceed the contractors own quality

34、 assurance standards and the quality assurance standards defined by the technical data in the bid package. Product demonstration model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of their intended production. The product demonstration model will consist of units independently developed. Product de

35、monstration models will be analyzed and evaluated by the Government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product demonstration models will be retained by the Government. One (1) product demonstration model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serv

36、e as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. advised that the product demonstration model does not relieve the successful offerer of his responsibility to perform in accordance with the commercial item description specified above.
