SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers the requirements for

2、one type and size holster cover. The cover is intended to be worn over the 9MM pistol holster by military police of the Marine Corps as a part of the Marine police equipment set. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The cover shall consist of a holster cover and separate flap cover. Each piece shall be two-p

3、ly with all edges bound with 1 to 1 1/8 inch tape. The two-plies shall be individually constructed, bound, and sewn together, or bound together in one operation. The holster cover is intended to fit the 9MM holster for either right or left handed use. Each side of the holster cover shall have two re

4、ctangular eyelet openings (1/2 inch by 2 inches), with serged edges to accommodate the belt attachment and flap closure hardware of the holster (see Figures 1 and 2). 6、ction or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-A-A-552 7 9 3. Materials 3.1. Basic material. The basic material shall be cotton, 8.0 ounce, 3/1 left-hand twill. As an alternate cloth, polyester(65)/cotton(35), 6.8 ounce, 3/1 left-hand twill, may be used of similar construction. The color

7、 shall be bleached white as specified in contract. 3.1.2 Tape. The tape for binding the raw edges of the cover shall be cotton, bleached white. Construction shall be a minimum of 100 ends /minimum 38 picks per inch. As an alternate, polyester(65)/cotton(35) blend, may be used of similar construction

8、 3.1.3 Thread. The thread shall be cotton conforming to A-A-52094, soft finish, bleached white, ticket No 40, 3 ply for all seaming and stitching. As an alternate thread, polyester, cotton covered, white shade, size 70 may be used. 3.1-4 Shademarkinq. The component parts shall be marked to insure a

9、 uniform shade throughout the cover. marking may be used except: Any method of shade (a) Corrosive metal devices. (b) Adhesive type tickets which show discoloration or leave traces of paper or adhesive mass to the material upon removal of the tickets. 3.1.5 Patterns, The patterns generally provide f

10、or a seam allowance of 1/8 inch for joining seams. The guide patterns are available upon request. However, commercial patterns may be used in lieu of the Government guide patterns provided they conform to the cited design and finished measurements. 3.1.6 Sized and measurements. The finished cover sh

11、all conform to the measurements on Figures 1 and 2. 3.1.7 Labels. A commercial-type label is acceptable, provided that an additional printed cloth label containing the contractors name, contract number, nomenclature and National Stock Number (NSN) is caught in the stitching of the commercial label.

12、The commercial label shall include fiber and laundering information. 4. REGULATORY REOUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) . The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this

14、commercial item description; conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices; and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery

15、and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5.1.1 Certificate of compliance. Where certificates of compliance are submitted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certification. 5.1.2 Defects. The pistol hol

16、ster cover and flap shall be examined for the following defects: any hole, cut, tear; color not as specified; any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; tape not tightly woven, frayed edges; seams/stitching open; broken or skipped stitches; loose tension; puckering of fabric on seams; mea

17、surement of item not as specified; binding; improperly or loosely applied, overlapped ends misplaced; ends of binding not overlapped; eyelet openings not as specified; frayed edges; missing eyelets, eyelets not completely serged; skipped stitching; opening not smooth; item not able to perform for in

18、tended use; any items not packaged in accordance with the contract or purchase order. 5.2 Market acceDtabilitv. The item offered, or a generic equivalent, must have been sold to the commercial market or to the Government for at least 2 years. 5.3 Warranty. The item offered shall include the standard

19、 warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the individual items. 6 PACKAGING 6.1 Preservation. packins, and markinq.
