SCOPE. This commercial item description covers t
2、he requirements for two types and twoclasses of poplin, polyester and cotton cloth. Type I cloths are intended for use in shirts wornby Naval personnel. Type II cloths are intended for use by all services in swimming andgeneral utility trunks for both male and female personnel.2. CLASSIFICATION. The
3、 polyester and cotton fabrics shall be of the following types andclasses.Type I - 4.1 to 4.6 oz.Class 1 - Khaki 3729Class 2 - White 3013Type II - 4.7 to 5.3 oz. (Water Repellent Treated)Class 1 - Khaki 3726Class 2 - Green 34523. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.3.1 General description. The weave for both the
4、 type I and type II cloth shall be plain. Thecloth shall conform to the requirements in Table I.3.2 Yarns. The yarns shall be a blend of polyester and combed cotton drawn and spun intosingles yarn for both the warp and the filling. The finished cloth shall contain 65 percent(+ 5 percent) polyester f

7、e finished cloth shall be as specified in the contract or purchaseorder and shall be the minimum acceptable width inclusive of selvages when fly-shuttle loomsor shuttleless looms when tucked-in selvages are used. For all other shuttleless looms, thewidth measurement shall be made between the last wa
8、rp yarn on each side excluding theprotruding fringe.3.4 Color. The finished cloth, when dyed as specified shall match the standard sample whenviewed under filtered tungsten lamps that approximate artificial daylight and that have acorrelated color temperature of 7500 K (+ 200 degrees), with illumina
9、tion of 100 foot candles(+ 20 feet), and be a good match to the standard sample under incandescent lamplight at 2300K (+ 200 degrees). Type I, class 1 shall be Khaki, Shade No. 3729. Type I, class 2 shall beWhite, Shade No. 3013, shall be fully bleached, and may be supplemented with florescentoptica
10、l brightener. Type II, class 1 shall be Khaki, Shade No. 3726. Type II, class 2 shall beGreen, Shade No. 3452.3.5 Finish. The cloth shall be desized, scoured, heat set, and dyed or bleached to meet therequirements. The type II cloths shall be given an approved durable water repellent treatmentto mee
