Scope. This commercial item descripti

2、on covers requirements for an all weather, heavy weight sock. This sock is designed to be worn over top of a wicking liner sock as part of a system configuration that wicks moisture from the foot and provides insulation. This configuration can be worn with either an insulated or uninsulated boot. 2.

3、 Classification. The sock shall be of one type and class. The sock shall be provided in Sizes 9 through 15. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Basic Material. The yarn for the sock shall be a blend of 50% wool (48s grade) and 50% polypropylene (3 denier, 3 inch cut). The single yarn size shall be 140 gr

4、ains for 100 yards (8.93 worsted count) with 8 to 8.5 turns per inch with 3 ends used in the foot to 3 inches above the center heel gore. Two ends of the 50/50 blend are used with one end of 3/70s denier nylon from the 3 inch mark (as above) to the bottom of the 2 inch 1x1 cuff. The cuff shall be co

5、nstructed of 435P elastic rubber for 2 ends of the 50/50 blend. 7、terry knit to withstand maximum load conditions, and to provide insulation, resilience and loft. The nap is reversed and worn on the outside of the sock to provide maximum thermal properties. The cuff shall be a 1x1 mock rib. 3.3 Knittinq. The socks shall be knitted on a 5.0 inch diameter head, sing

8、le cylinder, 72 needle terry knitting machine. The knit shall be a high density reversed jersey with 15 courses per inch vertical with a reciprocated heel. 2 inch 1x1 mock rib by 3.5 inches wide, with 13 courses per inch. The top shall be a 3.4 Toe seam. The toe seam shall be arch form (fish mouth c

9、losure) and sewn using 2/100/s stretch nylon (Diagram A, Figure 1). 3.5 Color. The color of the wool shall be olive drab blended with natural polypropylene. 3.6 Sizes and measurements. inches shall be used for the sock size (see Table I). be measured from the back of the heel through the center of t

The contractor shall provide a certificate of conformance for the wool, polypropylene, and nylon yarns to indicate the yarns conform to the fiber, twist, yarn count and ply r

14、equirements cited in the document. The contractor shall provide the certificates of conformance prior to the first delivery of the contract. 5.2 Market acceptance criteria. Acceptance criteria shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order. offering the socks, or generically similar socks a

15、s described herein, must have been sold to the commercial market or to the Government for at least 2 years. 5.3 Visual examination. Each sock shall be examined for the defects listed below. The company 5.3.1 Defects. Any hole, cut, tear, needle chew, lumps, or puckers in the toe seam; any run, snags

16、 dropped stitches, noticeable variation in shade between two socks of a pair, noticeable variation in size (length and width) in a pair, knit construction of sock not as specified, open seam; color not as specified; any spot or stain; thread ends not trimmed; label missing, misplaced, incorrect, or

17、 illegible; measurement of item not as specified; bar code omitted or not readable by scanner; human-readable interpretation (HRI) omitted or illegible; bar code not visible on folded, packaged item; bar code causes damage to the item; any items not packaged in accordance with the contract or purcha
