3、the use of this commercial item description for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers one grade of anhydrous citric acid intended for use as a cleaning agent in distillation apparatuses and water demineralization plants, and as a component in the reverse osmos

4、is water purification units. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Chemical. The anhydrous citric acid furnished shall meet all the requirements of the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) monograph for citric acid. 2.2 Particle size. A maximum of 5 percent by weight shall be retained on a 4.750 millimeter (mm) (U.S

5、 No. 4) sieve; a maximum of 10 percent by weight will pass through a 0.300 mm (U.S. No. 50) sieve. 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federa

6、l Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 3.2 Material safety data sheet (MSDS). A MSDS shall be furnished in accordance with 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.1200, “Hazard Communication“, and FED-STD-313, “Material Safety Data, Transportation Data and Disposal Data for Hazardous Materials Furnished

An Occupational Safety and Health Administration hazard warning label shall be furnished in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1200. 4. PRODUCT

8、 CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Product conformance. The product provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The gov

9、ernment reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 4.2 Market acceptability. The product offered must have been previously sold either to the government or on the commercial market. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as spec
