This commercial item description (CID) covers weatherproof electric floodlights (luminaires) intended for illuminating recreational and industrial areas and for military utilitylighting.2. CLASSIFICATION. The floodlights shall be of the following
4、 types, styles, and sizes. Thefloodlight type is determined by the lamp type. Style is determined by the shape of the reflector orenclosure at its widest point. Size is determined by the lamp wattage. The type, style, and size tobe furnished shall be as specified (see 7.2(b).Type I - IncandescentTyp

The floodlight (also called “luminaire“) shall be new and one of themanufacturers current models capable of operation in accor
8、dance with the requirements herein. All parts subject to wear, breakage, or distortion shall be accessible for adjustment, replacement,and repair.3.2 Components. The floodlight shall include, as a minimum, the following components:3.2.1 Housing. The housing shall be metal (e.g., aluminum, bronze, st
9、eel, stainless steel) oracrylic material as specified (see 7.2(c). The housing shall hold and protect the ballast (whenprovided), lamp base(s), lamp(s), reflector, electrical circuitry, and lens. The housing shallprovide access to the lamp(s) for replacement during floodlight use.3.2.2 Ballast. Unle

The floodlight lamp
11、base shall conform to the requirements of the AmericanNational Standards Institute (ANSI) C81.61, “American National Standard for Electrical LampBases“.3.2.4 Lamp. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2(e), the lamp for the floodlight type and sizeselected shall conform to the requirements of the appro
12、priate standard(s) in the ANSI C78 andNational Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) C78 series of lamp standards.3.2.5 Reflector. The reflector shall be made of metal or acrylic as specified (see 7.2(f). Unlessotherwise specified (see 7.2(g), the reflector shall have a reflectance factor of a
13、t least 70 percentwhen measured in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J964, “TestProcedure for Determining Reflectivity of Rear View Mirrors“.3.2.6 Lens. If required, the floodlight shall be equipped with a lens of either the diffusing or thespreading type as specified (see 7.2(h)
14、. When provided, the lens shall be clear, colorless, andheat resistant and be removable for floodlight maintenance and repair.3.2.7 Mounting hardware. The floodlight housing shall have a bracket, trunnion, or othersupport compatible with the mounting surface hardware (e.g., flat surface, rounded sur
15、face,pendant, pole, pole top, crossarm, wall, or self-supporting free-standing) as specified (see 7.2(i).If required, the housing and mounting shall permit horizontal and vertical angular adjustment ofthe light direction as specified (see 7.2(j). When light direction adjustment is provided, theflood
16、light shall have a means to be locked in position after adjustment.3.2.8 Electrical circuit. The floodlight shall operate from either a 120-, 208-, 240-, or 277-volt,single-phase, 60-hertz electrical circuit as specified (see 7.2(k). If required for portability, thefloodlight shall have a weatherpro
17、of, 6-foot, 3-conductor, cable and plug assembly as specified (see 7.2(l).3.2.9 Nameplate or label. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2(m), the floodlight shall have anameplate or label affixed that shall include, as a minimum, the following information:a. Manufacturers nameb. Manufacturers catalog
18、numberc. Input voltaged. Maximum line voltagee. Ballast type (when provided) and tap voltage(s)f. Lamp type, wattage, and voltageg. 24、loodlight shall meet Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 153, “ElectricPortable Lamps“, 1570, “Florescent Lighting Fixtures“, 1571, “Incandescent Lighting Fixtures“,or 1572, “High Intensity Discharge Lighting Fixtures“, for wet locations for the type of floodlightselected. The floodlight shall be capable o

Type I and II floodlights shall conform to the requirementsof UL 1571; type III, IV, and V floodlights shall conform to the requirements of UL 1572; andtype VI floodlights shall conform to the requirements of UL 1570. A
27、portable floodlight of anytype shall conform to the requirements of UL 153. When specified (see 7.2(p), the floodlightshall conform to the requirements of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 60598-1,“Luminaires - Part 1: General requirements and tests“, and 60598-2-5, “Luminaires - Part
28、2-5: Particular requirements - Floodlights“. If a conflict arises between the UL and IEC standards, theIEC standards apply when specified.4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to themaximum extent practicable, in accordance
29、 with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal AcquisitionRegulation (FAR).4.2 Environmental protection. The item shall meet all applicable Environmental ProtectionAgency (EPA) restrictions in effect on the date of the contract. These regulations apply to theemission of materials hazardous to the environment
30、 or the users health and shall be adhered toduring the manufacturing, service, transportation, storage, and operation/use of the item.5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS5.1 Product conformance. The products shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercialitem description; conform to the manufac
31、turers own drawings, specifications, standards, andquality assurance practices; and be the same item offered for sale in the commercial market. TheGovernment reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.5.1.1 Verification of conformance. Suitable verification of conformance to UL 153, UL
32、1570,UL 1571, and UL 1572 shall be either the UL label or certification of such conformance by anaccredited testing laboratory satisfactory to the Government.6. PACKAGING6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. For acquisition purposes, the products shall bepreserved, packed, and marked as specified
