9、ecific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Item Requirements. The individual item requirements shall be as specified herein. 3.2 Interface and physical dimensions. The resistor shall meet the interface and physical dimensions as specified in MIL-PRF-22097 and herein (see figure 1). 3.3
10、Electrical characteristics. 3.3.1 Nominal resistance. The nominal resistance value shall be in accordance with table I. 3.3.2 Maximum rated working voltage. The maximum rated working voltage shall be in accordance with table I. 3.3.3 Power rating. Resistors shall have a power rating of 0.5 watt base
11、d on continuous full load operation at an ambient temperature of 70OC. For operation at temperature higher than 70OC, derate in accordance with figure 2. The resistance tolerance be 10 percent. 3.3.5 End resistance. When measured as specified in 4.4, the end resistance shall be 2 ohms maximum. 3.3.6 Conta
16、ct resistance variation. When measured as specified in 4.4, the contact resistance variation shall be 1 percent/3 percent, or 1 ohm/3 ohms, whichever is greater (see 6.3). 3.3.7 Resistance temperature characteristic(RTC). When resistors are tested as specified in 4.4, the RTC shall be 100 ppm/OC and
17、 if the RTC is less than 100 ohms, 200 ppm/OC 3.3.8 Setability. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.4, the setability shall be 2 percent maximum. 3.3.9 Insulation resistance. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.4, the insulation resistance shall not be less than 1000 megohms. 3.3.10
18、Actual effective-electrical travel. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.4, the number of turns of the operating shaft necessary for the contact arm to traverse the resistance element shall be 10 turns minimum and 28 turns maximum. 3.4 Torque. 3.4.1 Operating torque. When resistors are tested
19、 as specified in 4.4, the torque required to move the contact arm shall be 5 inch-ounce maximum. 3.4.2 Clutch. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.4, the contact arm shall idle against the stop without electrical discontinuity or evidence of mechanical damage. The travel arm shall be capable

Derating curve. 3.5 Thermal shock. When resistors are tested as
21、specified in 4.4, the change in total resistance shall not exceed 2 percent. 3.6 Solderability. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.4, the dipped surface of the terminals shall be at least 95 percent covered with a new, smooth, continuous surface, free from pinholes. The remaining 5 percent
22、of the terminal surface shall show only pinholes, voids, or rough spots. These shall not be concentrated in one area. Bare base metal, and areas where the solder dip failed to cover the original coating are indicators of poor solderability and shall be cause for failure. In case of a dispute, the pe
23、rcent of coverage with pinholes or rough spots shall be determined by actual measurement of these areas compared to the total area. 3.7 Resistance to solvents. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.4, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. 3.8 Immersion. When resistors are tested as
24、specified in 4.5, no more than three bubbles shall be omitted. 3.9 Weight. The maximum weight shall be 0.00551 pounds (2.5 grams). Resistors shall be marked with the PIN assigned herein (see 1.2) and the manufacturers Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code (or logo) in accordance with MIL-STD-1285. 3.11 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, re
26、covered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.12 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of complianc
27、e shall be required from manufacturers requesting to be suggested source of supply. 3.13 Workmanship. Resistors shall be processed to be uniform in quality and parts shall be free from defects that will affect life, serviceability, or appearance. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Qualification inspection. Qualifi
28、cation inspection not applicable to this document. 4.2 Conformance inspection. 4.2.1 Inspection of product for delivery. Inspection of product for delivery shall consist of the group A and B inspections of MIL-PRF-22097. 4.2.2 Certification. The procuring activity may accept a certificate of complia
29、nce in lieu of Group B inspection. 4.3 Visual and mechanical inspection. Resistors shall be inspected to verify that the materials, design, construction, physical dimensions, and workmanship are in accordance with the acceptable requirements (see 3.2 and 3.13). 4.4 Test methods. Test methods specifi
30、ed in 3.3.5 through 3.8 shall be in accordance with MIL-PRF-22097. 4.5 Immersion. The surface of the resistors shall be clean of any foreign matter immediately before immersion. a. Precondition. Precondition resistors in an oven at 125OC 5OC for 13 minutes 2 minutes, or use a fluorocarbon bath maint
31、ained at 125OC 5OC for a period of 1.5 minutes 0.5 minutes. Upon completion of precaution, allow resistors to stabilize to room temperature for approximately 13 minutes 2 minutes. b. Fluorocarbon. Immerse resistors (not to exceed 30 samples) into a bath of fluorocarbon held at 85OC +5OC, -0OC for a
32、period of 60 seconds 5 seconds. Visually examine resistors for inadequate seals, as evidenced by bubbles emanating from any point on the resistors. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When packagin
33、g of materiel is to be performed by DoD or in-house contractor personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activity within the Military Department or
34、 Defense Agency, or within the military services system commands. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military Departments or Defense Agencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity.
