22、 3. REQUIRMENTS 3.1 DSCC requirements drawing. The individual item requirements shall be in accordance with the applicable item requirements drawing and herein. In the case of conflict between this drawing and the individual requirements drawing, the latter shall govern. 3.1.1 Design and constructio
23、n and physical dimension. The design, construction, and physical dimensions shall be as specified in the applicable item requirements drawing and herein. 3.2 Material. The material for each part shall be as specified herein, or in the specific requirements drawing. 3.3 Contact. 3.3.1 Body. The conta
24、ct body shall be quarter-hard brass alloy UNS C26000 in accordance with ASTM B36/B36M or quarter hard CuNi alloy UNS 72500 in accordance with ASTM B122/B122M. 3.3.2 Spring. The contact spring shall be half-hard, beryllium copper alloy UNS C17200 in accordance with ASTM B194, heat-treated to full har
25、d condition. 3.3.3 Housing. The housing shall be unfilled, modified polyphenylene oxide or glass filled nylon in accordance with ASTM D4066 and shall be molded from a resin having a flame retardant rating of V-0 or better, in accordance with UL-94. 3.3.4 Polarizing plug. The plug shall be unfilled n
26、ylon in accordance with ASTM D4066 and shall be molded from a resin having a flame retardant rating of V-0 or better, in accordance with UL-94. 3.4 Finish. 3.4.1 Contact body. The contact body shall be plated with 39 microinches (0.76 m) gold minimum, in accordance with ASTM-B488, code C, type 2, cl
27、ass 0.76 in the contact area (preplating is permissible), over 50 microinches (1.27 m) nickel in accordance with SAE AMS-QQ-N-290, class 2. The remainder shall be plated with gold flash. Note: When contacts have been provided in strip form, the absence of plating in the area where the contact was re
28、moved from the strip is acceptable provided it is in a nonfunctional area and any corrosion formed as a result of salt spray testing does not creep into contact mating areas. 3.4.2 Contact spring. The contact spring shall be plated with a gold flash in accordance with ASTM B488, code C, type 2, clas
29、s 0.25 (10 microinches) minimum. 3.5 Design and construction. The connector shall be a multi-piece assembly having a one- or two row housing and insertable contacts crimped to discrete stranded wires size 22 through 36 AWG. The female (disconnect) end of the contact shall be available with different
30、 thicknesses of retention spring providing contact normal forces shown under mechanical characteristics. The assembled connector shall interface with .025 inch (6.35 mm) round or square pins on .100 inch (2.54 mm) centers, as appropriate. All contacts crimped to discrete stranded wire sizes 18 throu
31、gh 36 AWG can be used as discrete units on .025 inch (6.35 mm) round or square pins. 3.5.1 Mating. The connector shall be capable of mating and unmating by hand without the use of special tools. 3.5.2 Workmanship. Connectors shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from burrs, scratches, cracks
32、, voids, chips, blisters, pin holes, sharp edges, and other defects that will adversely affect life or serviceability. No parts of the connector assembly shall be permanently displaced from their original, normal fitted position at completion of the specified test. 3.5.4 Interchangeability. The connector shall be capable of mating with an appropriately constituted mal
34、e connector of the same population without degradation in performance. 3.5.5 Polarization/keying. Polarization/keying of the connector shall be available through the use of individual polarizing plugs inserted into selected contact positions. Positions used to accomplish polarization/keying shall no
35、t be functional. 3.6 Electrical characteristics. 3.6.1 Current rating. The maximum current rating of the connector is dependent on wire size and housing confinement. Contact resistance shall be measured in accordance with test procedure EIA-364-24, and the following details shall apply: a. Metho

38、izes 18-30 AWG. The change in crimp resistance for 32-36 AWG shall not exceed 2 milliohms. Crimp resistance shall be measured in accordance with test procedure EIA-364-24, and the following details shall apply: a. 41、10,000 megohms initial (5,000 megohms after exposure to the humidity environment described in 3.8.1) when measured in accordance with test procedure EIA-364-21, and the following details shall apply: a. Test voltage: 500 V dc. b. Points of measurement: Between adjacent and opposing contact positions
42、. 3.6.5 Dielectric withstanding voltage. There shall be no evidence of arc-over, insulation breakdown, or excessive leakage current (1 milliampere) when the unmated connector is tested in accordance with test procedure EIA-364-20, condition I, and the following details shall apply: a. Test potential
43、: 1000 V rms, 60 hertz. b. Test duration: 60 seconds. c. Test condition: I (760 torr - sea level). d. Points of measure: Between adjacent and opposing contact positions. 3.6.6 Capacitance. The capacitance between adjacent or opposing contacts in an unmated connector shall not exceed 0.5 picofarads w
44、hen measured in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 305, at a frequency of 100 kilohertz. Individual contacts shall withstand an axial load of 6.5 pound (3 kg) applied to the terminating wire without dislodgement from their housing cavities. 3.7.2 Normal force. The minimum normal forces of the contact shall be as shown in table I. Minimu
46、m normal force shall be measured by deflecting the spring a distance equal to the difference between the contact gap and a .024-inch (0.61 mm) gauge pin (see figure 2). TABLE I.
