The termination portion of the contact, which will be mounted to the printed wiring board, shall simulate those of commonly available in
5、tegrated circuits. The portion of the contact to which the components are mounted shall accommodate discrete components and shall be available in round pin, solder pocket, and slotted pin styles. 1.2 Part or Identifying Number (PIN). 16、 3.1 DSCC requirements drawing. The individual item requirements shall be in accordance with the applicable requirements drawing. In the event of any conflict between requirements of this drawing and the DSCC requirements drawing, the latter shall govern. 3.2 Design, construction, and physical dimen
17、sions. The design, construction, and physical dimensions shall be as specified in the applicable item requirements drawing and those specified herein. 3.2.1 Material. The material for each part shall be as specified herein, If a reference material is not identified, a material shall be used which wi
18、ll enable the adapters to meet the performance requirements of this drawing. 3.2.2 Contacts. Contacts shall be phosphor bronze in accordance with ASTM B139, composition A or B, CDA 510, or brass in accordance ASTM B16. 3.2.3 Insulator. The insulator shall be thermoplastic polyester in accordance wit
19、h ASTM D5205, type PE10110 G30 A00190 E05 EF085 ZN215 polyetherimide in accordance with ASTM D5205 or ASTM 4507, type 110 G30 A45340 FL310 or as specified in the item requirements drawing. 3.3 Finish. Contacts shall be tin-lead plated in accordance with AMS-P-81728. 200 to 340 microinches (0.51 to 0
20、.86 m) thick (5 percent minimum lead) over 30 to 200 microinches copper, or gold in accordance with ASTM B488, type 2, code C, class 0.18 (7.5 microinches) minimum, over 30 to 150 microinches (0.76 to 3.81m) nickel in accordance with AMS-QQ-N-290 as specified in the item requirements drawing. 3.4 De
21、sign and construction. The adapter shall have the configuration as specified by the applicable item requirements drawing. 3.4.1 Workmanship. The adapter shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from burrs, scratches, cracks, voids, sharp edges, and other defects that will adversely affect life

Unless otherwise specif
23、ied, the maximum current rating is 5 amperes when tested with an appropriate size wire. The maximum temperature rise limit shall be 30C above ambient temperature (see 4.2). 3.5.2 Insulation resistance. The insulation resistance shall be 5,000 megohms minimum when tested in accordance with MIL-STD-20
24、2, method 302, test condition C. 3.5.3 Dielectric withstanding voltage. The socket adapter shall have 1,000 V rms between pins when tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 301 at sea level. At an altitude equivalent to 50,000 feet (15.24 km) (high altitude) the test voltage shall be 350 V rms.
25、 There shall be no flashover or insulation breakdown. Test duration shall be 60 seconds. 3.5.4 Capacitance. When measured in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 305, using a frequency of 1 kHz, the capacitance between adjacent terminal pins shall not exceed 2.0 picofarads. 3.6 Environmental conditio
26、ns. 3.6.1 Thermal shock. When tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 107, test condition F, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. 3.6.2 Operating temperature. Operating temperature shall be as specified in the individual detail specification sheets. 3.6.3 Mechanical shock. When tes
27、ted in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 213, at an acceleration level of 100 G, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. 3.6.4 Vibration. When tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 204, with a frequency range of 10 to 2,000 Hz at an acceleration level of 10 G, there shall be no ev
28、idence of mechanical damage. 3.6.5 Salt spray. When tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 101, test condition B (48 hours with a 5 percent salt solution) there shall be no evidence of corrosion that would affect the use of adapter. 3.7Mechanical requirements. Applicable to adapters with wire
29、 wrap terminations. 3.7.1 Torque. When tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 211, test condition E, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage as a result from exposure of terminals to a 2.0 ounce-force inch (14.12 mN m) torque in both the clockwise and counterclockwise directions. 3.7.
30、2 Axial terminal retention. When tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 211, test condition A, with a force on 7.5 pounds (33.36 N) applied axially at the tip of the terminal, there shall be no evidence of damage or loosening of contacts. 3.7.3 Terminal bend. When tested in accordance with MI
31、L-STD-202, method 211, test condition B, there shall be no evidence of breaking or cracking when the terminal is flexed through an arc of 30 from its true position. 3.8 Mechanical requirements. Applicable to adapters with solder terminations. 3.8.1 Solderability. When tested in accordance with MIL-S
32、TD-202, method 208, the terminal shall display at least 95 percent covering of continuous new solder with no concentration of solder voids in the balance of the area. When specified (see 3.1), the adapter shall be tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 210, test condition B. The adapter shall be mounted to a glass epoxy printed wiring board. After the
34、 test, there shall be no evidence of damage and it shall conform to all the performance requirements described in 3.4.1 and 3.5.2 herein. 3.9 Manufacturer eligibility. To be eligible to supply adapters to this drawing, the manufacturer must provide a part as specified herein and on the item requirem
35、ents drawing. Test data of part performance must be made available to the Defense Supply Center, Columbus upon request. A current production sample shall be supplied (free of charge and without obligation) to DSCC-VAI or their designated (quality review) agent, before the manufacturer may be listed
36、or solicited for a bid on the applicable drawing. Samples supplied are subject to testing and may not be returned. 3.10 Marking. Marking shall be in accordance with the item requirements drawing. 3.11 Quality assurance requirements. Adapters furnished under this drawing shall have been subjected to
37、and passed all requirements, tests, and inspection details herein including quality conformance inspection. 3.12 Certification of compliance. A certification of compliance shall be required from a manufacturer in order to be listed as an approved source of supply (see 6.4). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROV
38、ISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable f
39、or the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the drawing where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed req
40、uirements. 4.1.1 Equipment calibration. All test equipment and inspection facilities used in the performance of any test shall be maintained in a calibration system in accordance with ANSI/NCSL Z500-1-1990. 4.2 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified herein, all inspections shall be perfor
41、med under the following ambient conditions: a. Temperature: 25C 5C. b. Relative humidity: 30 to 80 percent. 4.3 Qualification inspection. Qualification inspection for adapters specified herein shall not be required. 4.4 Certification as an approved source of supply. In order to be listed as an appro
42、ved source of supply for adapters, a manufacturer shall: a. Agree to make available to DSCC, upon request, all pertinent test data on the subject part indicating compliance to the tests outlined in table I. b. Provide to DSCC-VAI, or its designated agent, upon request, free of change and without obl
43、igation, a current production sample from its production line, of the quantity of units required of the types specified. Every three years after the initial certification to a specific item drawing, the manufacturer shall perform the testing specified in table I. The quantity of samples shall be three of each termination type. The samples shall b
45、e the largest size (maximum number of contacts) described by the detail drawing. The data collected shall be retained by the manufacturer and shall be supplied to DSCC-VAI upon request. 4.5.2 Quality conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspection shall be performed on sample units produced w
46、ith equipment and procedures normally used in production see table I, quality conformance inspection. Manufactures shall keep lot records for 3 years minimum, monitor for compliance to the prescribed procedures, and observe that satisfactory manufacturing conditions and records on lots are maintaine
47、d for these adapters. Customers shall make the records, including as a minimum, an attributes summary of all quality conformance inspections on each lot, as requested. TABLE I.
