This drawing describes the requirements for metallized polycarbonate capacitors screened to MIL-PRF-55514. 1.2 Part or Identifying Number (PIN). The following specifications, standards, and handbooks form a part of this document to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise specified, the issues of thes

SPECIFICATIONS DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE MIL-PRF-55514 - Capacitors, Fixed, Plastic (or Metallized Plastic) Dielectric, DC or DC-AC, in Nonmetal Cases, Non-established and Established Reliability, General Specification for. STANDARDS

7、 DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE MIL-STD-202 - Test Method Standard Electronic and Electrical Component Parts. MIL-STD-1285 - Marking of Electrical and Electronic Parts. In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein (except for related associated specifications, specification sheets, or MS sheets), the te

9、xt of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Interface and physical dimensions. The interface and physical dimensions shall be as specified in MIL-PRF-55514 and h

10、erein (see figure 1, table I and table II). 3.1.1 Leads. Tinned copper wire (see figure 1 and table II). 3.1.2 Construction. Wrap and fill. 3.1.3 Operating temperature range. The operating temperature range shall be -55C to +125C. The voltage shall be derated by 1.25%/C from 85C to 125C. 3.2 Electri

11、cal characteristics. The electrical characteristics shall be as follows. 3.2.1 Working voltage. See table I. 3.2.2 Dielectric type. Metallized polycarbonate. Capacitors shall withstand a dc potential of 200 percent of rated voltage for 2 minutes without damage

14、or breakdown. Test voltage must be applied and discharged through a resistance of 1 ohm per volt, minimum. 3.2.4 Capacitance stability. Capacitance shall not vary more than 2.5 percent from the 25C value over a range of temperatures from -55C to +125C. 3.2.5 Capacitance (see table I). Capacitance sh

15、all be measured in accordance with MIL-PRF-55514. 3.2.6 Capacitance tolerance. See table I. 3.2.7 Dissipation factor (+25C). Dissipation factor shall not exceed 0.3 percent when measured in accordance with MIL-PRF-55514. 3.2.8 Insulation resistance. Measured in accordance with MIL-PRF-55514, minimum

16、 insulation resistance at rated dc voltages are as follows. 3.2.8.1 At +25C, 50,000 megohm microfarads minimum, but need not exceed 100,000 megohms. 3.2.8.2 At +125C, 500 megohm microfarads minimum, but need not exceed 1,000 megohms. 3.2.8.3 Measurements. The insulation resistance shall be measured

17、after a 2-minute charge with rated voltage applied. 3.3 Solderability of terminals. In accordance with MIL-PRF-55514. 3.4 Vibration. In accordance with MIL-PRF-55514, test condition D of MIL-STD-202, method 204. 3.5 Shock. In accordance with MIL-PRF-55514, test condition I of MIL-STD-202, method 213

18、 3.6 Immersion. In accordance with MIL-PRF-55514. 3.7 Moisture resistance. In accordance with MIL-PRF-55514. 3.8 Life. Life shall be 125 percent of the rated voltage applied at +85C for 2,000 hours. 3.8.1 Post-life test end points. After testing in accordance with 3.8, units shall meet the followin

19、g requirements: a. No mechanical damage shall be evident. b. Capacitance shall not have changed by more than 5 percent of the initial value. c. Insulation resistance shall meet or exceed the initial requirements. d. Dissipation factor shall not exceed the value specified. 3.9 Terminal strength. In a

20、ccordance with MIL-PRF-55514. 3.10 Resistance to solvents. In accordance with MIL-PRF-55514. 3.11 Marking. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1285 except the capacitors shall be marked with the PIN as specified herein (see 1.2), the manufacturers name or Commercial and Government Entity (CA

21、GE) code, and date lot codes. 3.12 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and pr

22、omotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.13 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of compliance shall be required from manufacturers requesting to be a suggested source of supply. The capacitor shall be uniform in quality and free from any defects that will affect life, serviceability, or appearance. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Conformance inspection. 4.1.1 Inspection of p

24、roduct for delivery. Inspection of product for delivery shall consist of group A inspection of MIL-PRF-55514. Group B inspection shall be performed when specified on the purchase order. 4.1.2 Certification. The acquiring activity, at its discretion, may accept a certificate of compliance with group

25、B inspections in lieu of performing group B inspections (see 6.2c). 4.2 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except a

26、s otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use their own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections se

27、t forth herein where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of materiel

28、is to be performed by DoD personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within

29、the Military Departments System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military Departments or Defense Agencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity. 6. NOTES (This section contains information of a general or explan

30、atory nature which may be helpful, but is not mandatory.) 6.1 Intended use. Capacitors conforming to this drawing are intended for use when military specifications do not exist and qualified military devices that will perform the required function are not available for OEM application. This drawing

31、is intended exclusively to prevent the proliferation of unnecessary duplicate specifications, drawings, and stock catalog listings. When a military specification exists and the product covered by this drawing has been qualified for listing, this drawing becomes obsolete and will not be used for new

32、design. 6.2 Ordering data. The contract or purchase order should specify the following: a. Complete PIN (see 1.2). b. Requirements for delivery of one copy of the conformance inspection data or certificate of compliance that parts have passed conformance inspection with each shipment of parts by the

33、 manufacturer. c. Whether the manufacturer performs the group B inspections, or provides certification of compliance with group B inspections. d. Requirements for notification of change of product to the acquiring activity, if applicable. e. Requirements for packaging and packing. 6.3 Replaceability

34、 Capacitors covered by this drawing will replace the same commercial device covered by contractor prepared specification or drawing. 6.3 Users of record. Coordination of this document for future revisions is coordinated only with the suggested sources of supply and the users of record of this docum
