2、 agencies. 1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION 1.1 Scope. This specification covers a manually operated hair clipper (see 6.1). 1.2 Classification. The hair clipper shall be the following size. When shipping containers are required to be in accordance wth PPP-B-636, examination for defects in closure, waterproofing, and strapping shall be in accordance with the appendix of the
7、applicable specification. 4.4 Tests. 4.4.1 Hardness test. The hardness of cutting blades shall be performed in accordance with ASTM E18. locations on teeth, i.ee, each end tooth and the middle tooth. Hardness of blades shall be taken in the center of the widest surface area. Any nonconformance with

PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Preservation and packaging. Preservation and packaging shall be level A or C, as specified (see 6.2) . 5.1.1 Level
12、A. 5.1.1.1 Preservation. Al1 preservation methods and materials shall con- form to MIL-P-116. Exposed uncoated steel surfaces-of each clipper shall be cleaned by method C-1, preserved with type P-14 preservative, and wrapped in greaseproof barrier material conforming to type II, grade A, class 1 of
13、MIL-B-121. 5.1.1.2 Unit packaging. Each clipper, preserved as specified in 5.1.1.1, shall be packaged together with the blade guard in a snug-fitting folding Set-up paperboard box conforming to variety 1, style III or VIII, type By class a of PPP-B-566 or type i, variety 1, class A, style 3 or 4 of
14、PPP-B-676. Box closure shall be in accordance with the appendix of the applicable box specification. 5.1.1.3 Intermediate packaging. Fifty clippers, unit packaged as specified in 5.1.1.2, shall be packed in a snug-fitting fiberboard box conforming to type CF or SF, class domestic, style RSC of PPP-B
15、-636. Closure shall be in accordance with the appendix of the container specification. 5.1.2 Level C. Clippers shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with the industrys practice. 5.2 Packing. Packing shall be level A, B, or C, as specified (see 6.2) . 5.2.1 Level A. One hundred clippers prese
16、rved and packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a snug-fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to VS, style RSC of PPP-B-636, Each shipping container shall be closed, waterproofed by means of tape, and reinforced with strapping or tape banding in accordance with the appendix of th
17、e container specification. 5.2.2 Level B. One hundred clippers preserved and packaged as specified in 5.1 shall be packed in a snug-fitting fiberboard shipping container con- forming to type CF or SF, class domestic, style-RSC of PPP-B-636. Closure shall be in accordance with method II of the append

Clippers, packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a manner to insure carrier acceptance and safe delivery at destination at the lowest transportation rate for such supplies. Containers shall be in accordance with Unifor
20、m Freight Classification Rules or National Motor Freight Classification Rules, as applicable. 5.3 Marking. 5.3.1 Civil agencies. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order (see 6.2), intermediate packages and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with FED-STD-12

In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order (see 6.2), intermediate packages and shipping con- tainers shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The hair clipper covered by this specification is in- Size O clip
