In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, sh

16、all supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample of the laminated cloth shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.4 and 6.3). 3.2 Materials. - 3.2.1 B

17、ase Cloth. 3.2.1.1 Face. The face cloth shall be a Pire resistant, high strength aramid fiber blend conforming to MIL-C-83429, Type II (4.3 ounces per square yard), Class 1, Color 1590. 3.2.1.2 Middle layer. The middle layer shall include a microporous, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene film weighing

18、 0.7 5 0.3 ounces per square yard and an ad- hesive suitable for the purpose intended. to MIL-C-85636. 3.2.1.3 Backing. The backing cloth shall be an aramid jersey knit conforming O 3.2.2 Laminated cloth. The base cloths shall be laminated together in such a manner that the assembled (finished) clot

19、h shall comply with the requirements specified in Table I, when tested as specified in 4.6 (see Figure 1). 3.3 Dimensions of the laminated cloth. 3.3.1 Length and put-up. Unless otherwise specified by the procuring act (see 6.2.11, the laminated cloth shall be put up on rolls as specified in 5.1. Un

20、less otherwise specified by the acquiring activity (see 6.2.1), the minimum of any one roll shall be 50 linear yards, the maximum number of pieces per rol shall be three and no single piece shall be less than 10 yards. vi ty ength 3.3.2 Width. The first article inspection consists of examinations and tests performed on samples which are representative of the production item after a

29、ward of a contract to determine that the production item conforms to the requirements of this specification (see 4.4). The i nspect ion requirements speci f i ed herein are classified as follows: b. Quality conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspection con- sists of examinations and tests p

30、erformed on the individual products or lots to determine conformance of the products or lots with the re- quirements set forth in this specification (see 4.5). 4.3 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified herein, al 1 testing shall be performed under standard atmospheric conditions and perf

31、ormed on specimens in moi sture equi 1 i bri um under standard atmospheric condi tions specified i n FED-STD- 191 or ASTM as applicable. 4.4 First article inspection. First article inspection of the laminated cloth shall consist of examinations and tests for all of the requirements of this speci- fi

32、 cat ion. 4.4.1 First article samples. Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practi- cable after the award of the contract or order, the manufacturer shall submit three linear yards of the laminated cloth. 34、d at the discretion of the acquiring activity (see 6.2.1). Approval of the first article inspection samples or the waiving of the first article inspection does not waive the requirements for performing the quality conformance inspection. The first article inspection samples shall be furnished to the

35、 Government as directed by the contracting officer (see 6.2.1). A test report, containing complete test data for each component required herein, shall be prepared in accordance with MIL-STD-831. The test report shall accompany the first article samples. When a contractor is in continuous production

36、of this laminated cloth t 4.4.2 Disposition of first article samples. Upon completion of the first article inspection, recommendations and comments pertinent for use in monitoring production will be forwarded by the Government activity responsible for the inspection program (see 6.2.1) to the contra

37、cting officer. The samples will be consumed or destroyed during testing and 5hall not be considered as part of the quantity to be delivered under the contract or order. Quality conformance inspection. The qual i ty conformance inspection shall consist of the examinations in 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 and all t

38、he tests required for the laminated cloth for each lot. 4.5 4.5.1 Examination of the end item. The end item shall be examined in accordance with the classification of defects and acceptable quality levels (AQLs) set forth in 4.5.1.1 through 4.5.1.4. inspected and visual defects classified as listed

39、in Table II. The cloth shall be inspected on the face side, except every tenth roll shall be examined on the back side. The defects found shall be counted regardless of their proximity to each other except where two or more defects represent a single local condition of the cloth, in which case only

40、one defect shall be counted . A continuous defect shall be counted as one defect for each warpwise yard or fraction thereof in which it occurs. 100 yards. 4.5.1.1 Yard-by-yard examination. The lot shall be unacceptable if the total of the actual gross length of pieces in the roll are less than the total of the gross lengths marked on the tickets. 4.5.1.4 Examination for complian

45、ce with Textile Fiber Products Identification U. During the yard-by-yard examination, each roll in the sample shall be examined for conformance to the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. Each roll not labeled in accordance with this Act shall be a defect. The lot shall be unaccept- able if tw

46、o or more of these defects occur. 4.5.2 Inspection of packaging. The sampling and inspection of the preserva- tion, packing and container marking shall be in accordance with the requirements of PPP-P-1136. 4.5.3 Testing of end item. 4.5.3.1 Leakage. The lot size, for the leakage test, shall be expre

47、ssed in units of one yard and the number of sample units tested shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, Inspection Level S-3. Each sample unit shall be a length of cloth, full width, with a minimum testing area of 1290 square inches. The sample units shall be taken from as many different rolls of c

48、loth as possible and the actual test area within the roll shall be randomly selected. Sample units from different rolls shall be selected from as many different locations across the width of the cloth as possible to assure that both areas near the selvage edges and areas in the middle of the cloth w

49、idth are selected. yards of cloth based on the lot size expressed in yards (see 4.6.1). The AQL for this test shall be 6.5 leaks per 100 4.5.3.2 Film weight. The lot size, for the film weight test, shall be expressed in units of one yard. The sample unit shall be 1-112 yards full width of the polytetrafluoroethylene film.
