To the extent of any inconsistencies between the written specification and the figure, the written specification shall govern. 3.5 Patterns. Standard patterns to be used for cutting working patterns

15、. types specified herein shall confmn to FED-STD.751 specified herein, the seam tm shall be SSp or SSn-1 used with any 500 stitch type (except 501, 510, 511, or 513) or lsc-2 with 301 or 401 stitch type. An examination shall be made to determine that the pall
27、etization canplies with the section 5 requirements. Defects shall be scored in accordance with .the .list below. The sample unit shall be one palletized unit load fully packaged- The lot size shall be the number of palletized unit loads in the end item inspection lot. The inspection level shall be S

30、mately 14 by 11 inches. 5.1.2 Level C (Ccmnercial Packaging). me shirts shall be packaged to afford adequate protection against physical damage during shipnt fran the contractor to the first receiving activity. The package and the quantity per package shall be the same as that normally used by the c
31、ontractor for retail distribution. 5.2 Packing. 5.2.1 Level A. Eighty (80) shirts of one size only, packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a fiberboard shipping container assembled, closed and reinforced conforming to type CF class weather-resistant, variety Dw, grade VlSc, size 3A of MIL-
32、B-17757. The fiberboard for the box liner shall conform to-tw CF, class danestic, of MIL-B-17757. ievel A packages shall be packed flat, two in length, one in width, and forty in depth within a shipping container, Each container shall have the contents ccmpletely covered on the top and bottm with a
33、sheet of carniercial grade kraft paper. Toward the end of the contract or when there are less than the required amount per container of the same size, mixed sizes may be packed within the same container. Shirts, packaged as
37、 specified in 5-1, shall be packed in a manner to insure carrier acceptance and safe delivery at destinatin at the lowest transportation rate for such supplies. The quantity per shipping container shall be the same as that normally used by the supplier for retail distribution. Containers shall canpl
38、y with the U.S. Postal Service Manual, Uniform Freight Classification Ihiles or National Motor Freight Classification Rules, as applicable. 5.3 Markinq. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order, shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. . 5.3.1 L

Each shipping container, packed with mixed sizes only. shall have securely attached to the end and side, directly under the printing or stenciling, a white paper label 5 by 4 inches with the words “MIXED SIZES“ plainly stamped or printed thereon and under these words shall be leg
40、ibly stamped or printed the correct quantity and sizes contained herein. 5.4 Palletization. When specified (see 6.2) (shirts), packed as specified in 5.2, shall be palletized in accordance with load type I of MIL-STD-147. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accord
41、ance with the bonding means K and L or bonding means O. Pallet patterns shall be in accordance with the appendix of MIL-STD-147. Interlocking of loads shall be effected by reversing the pattern of each course. If the container is of a size which does not conform to any of the patterns specified in M
42、IL-STD-147, the pallet pattern used shall first be approved by the contracting officer. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The shirt is intended primarily for use as part of an ensemble used to protect torpedo handlers from exposire to Otto fuels. 6.2 Ordering: data. Procurement docianents should specify th
