This commercial item description covers a plastic transfer pipet for use with a KOVA
2、urinalysis system. Salient characteristics. Shall be a clear plastic transfer multipurpose pipet for contamination-free decanting of centrifuged urine from a KOVA tube, and then transfering samples onto microscope slides for examination. Shall include a bulbeous area near the tip end for retaining o
3、ne milliliter (ml) of a specimen sample. Shall be designed to be inserted into a KOVA tube for purposes of retaining 1 ml of centrifuged urine and its sedimentation within the tube. Shall be constructed with a molded flexible bulb and a clip- on at the top end, and a built-in stopper towards the dis
4、tal end. When the pipet is fully and properly inserted into a KOVA tube, the clip-on shall hook onto the side wall of the tube while the stopper at the distal end provides a snug fit with the side walls and retains 1.0 mi of urine sediment. The snug fit shall allow a urine sample to be decanted and
5、1.0 ml of urine sediment to be retained. Workmanship. The transfer pipet shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability. Unit. Package (PG). Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the
7、contractor is responsible or the performance f all inspection requirements as specified herein, Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable or the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapp
8、roved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements , Records, Records of examinations and tests performed by or for
9、the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract: and for a period of three years after delivery of the supp9iea to which such records relate. Inspection,
10、Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special aboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Inspections and testing. Inspections and
11、 testing shall be conducted on the transfer pipet in accordance with commercial. - practice. Sampling for inspections and testing shall be in accordance with commercial practice. Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured
12、using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances Specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and al other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the toleranc
13、es specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officex to determine if the product is acceptable, The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting Contractor certification. The contractor shall certiy that the product offered meets the salient chara
14、cteristics of this description and conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions o

Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/ contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as amended, and regulations promulgated thereunder.
