2、e use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for MIL-S-36868 which is cancelled. This Commercial Item Description covers a fitted, white cotton- polyester bed sheet. Salient Characteristics: The bed sheet shall be a bleached, white, shrunk, polyester/ cotton sheet of fitted or preshape
3、d configuration, made of commercial permanent-press or non-resinous material designation No. 128 (muslin), suitable for use as a bottom sheet on hospital beds. The sheet shall have a 35 gauge heat resist.ant rubber elastic, 1/4 to 3/8 inch wide, secured across each end, including the corners, with a suitable bias binding tape to provide a snug fit over the following size mattresses: Size 1 - 30 by 75 by 7 inches Size 2 - 36 by 78 by
8、6-1/2 inches All hems shall be straight and of uniform width. Hems shall be sewn so that no raw edges, run-offs, twists, pleats, puckers, or open seams result. Ends of all seams and stitchings, when not caught in other seams or stitchings, shall.be backtacked or backstitched not less than 1/2 inch.
9、Thread breaks shall be secured by stitching back of the breaks not less than 1/2 inch at each break. 10、309 5 m A-A-54337 A permanent launderable identification label shall be attached to the sheet. The label shall be approximately centered and sewn into the top or bottom hem of each sheet. The top or bottom edge of the label may be caught in the hem stitching. If desired, the remaining three sides ma
11、y be sewn to the sheet. As an alternate, the label may be attached by positioning in approximately the same position as described above and stitching all four sides. The label shall show at least good colorfastness to laundering transference and.to accelerated laundering. The label shall contain the

The bed sheet shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability. Unit. Each (EA). One sheet of the size specified, constitutes one unit. Quality Assurance Provisi
16、ons. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in t.he contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or
17、any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Qovernment. The Government reserves the right t,o perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and se
18、rvices conform to prescribed requirements. Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract
19、and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by
20、technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Sampling for examination. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 4.0 (percent defective) and an inspection level of I. The unit of product for examination purposes shall be one bed s
21、heet. Sampling for tests. Sampling for tests, including dimensional test, shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-CTD-105. with an AQL of 2.5 (percent defect.ive) and an inspection level of S-3. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specifi
23、ed using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the co
24、ntracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. . Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the produ
25、cers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Regulatory requirements. a Federal Food,

If the product covered by this document has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractorssuppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food,

In addition. the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of all other applicable Federal, State, and local statutes, ordinances and regulation
