2、h is cancelled. This commercial item description covers matrix bands suitable for use for restorations in individual teeth. Salient characteristics: Classification. The matrix bands shall be of the following types and sizes, as specified: Type I. Bands, Junior size, Tofflemire Sizes Universal, No. 1
3、3 Narrow M.O.D., No. 14 Wide M.O.D., No. 15 Type II. Bands, Adult size, Tofflemire Sizes Universal, No. 1 Wide M.O.D., No. 2 Narrow M.O.D., No. 3 Window-Opening Contra Angle, No. 10 Universal Contra Angle, No. 11 Material. The matrix bands shall be fabricated from austenitic stainless steel type 301
4、, 302, or 304 in accordance with ASTM Designation F899. Hardness. The matrix bands shall have a Knoop hardness of 351 to 402, when tested as specified below, or a Rockwell hardness of C35 to C40, when tested in accordance with ASTM E18. 6、ensions. The matrix bands shall be capable of being fitted around a tooth to supply a missing wall or contour, against which the gilling material may be placed and condensed. Bands shall be furnished in pre-stamped designs corresponding to the applicable design and size (number) specified, Junior si
7、ze bands shall be suitable for use with junior size Tofflemire retainers, and adult size bands shall be suitable for use with adult size Tofflemire retainers. All matrix bands shall conform to the design, dimensions, and size (number) shown in Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing No. 2335
8、5. Bands shall be furnished in the applicable size number, thickness, and quantity shown in Table I. The thickness tolerance for all bands shall be 5 0.0002 inch. 1. Bands shall show no signs of corrosion when subjected to the boil test in
10、 accordance with ASTM F1089. Flexibility. Bands shall withstand a minimum of two bends before breaking, when tested as specified below. All bands shall be put through a tumbling procedure to provide smooth peripheral edges free from burrs or other imperfect
12、ions. The surface roughness of bands shall be no more than the root-mean-square average deviation of 15 . microinches when the bands are tested with a suitable surface roughness analyzer. Workmanship. The finish of the bands shall be uniform and free of burrs, sharp edges, pit marks, cracks, wrinkle
13、s, folds, tears or other imperfections. The matrix bands shall be free from any imperfections which may detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability, proper functioning, and intended use. Unit. Packaqe (PG). One package containing twelve matrix bands of one size and thickness specifi
14、ed, constitutes one unit. m. (SE). One set containing twelve junior or twelve adult matrix bands of assorted sizes, constitutes one unit. Quality Assurance Provisions. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the p
15、erformance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract r purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Gove
16、rnment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained

19、cal and chemical properties) of the item. the manufacturer of the component or materials, may be furnished in lieu of actual performance of such testing by the contractor, provided lot identity has been maintained and can be demonstrated to the Government. Certificates of quality. Certificates of qu
20、ality, supplied by Samplinq for inspection. Sampling for inspection shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more inspection characteristics. The unit of product for inspection purposes shall be one package or on
21、e set of matrix bands. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for examination shall be conducted at inspection level II, AQL 2.5, .except for dimensions, which shall be conducted at inspection level S-1, AQL 2.5. Sampling for tests shall be conducted at inspection level S-2 and the acceptance number s
22、hall be zero (O) for all sample sizes. Examination. The matrix bands shall be examined to determine compliance with specification requirements. Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Hardness. Knoop hardness shall be determined on a Tukon tester unde
23、r a 500-gram load, using a rhombus-shaped diamond indenting tool with a longitudinal angle of 172.5 degrees and a traverse angle of 130 degrees. Flexibility test. The matrix band shall be bent back on itself by creasing it in the middle (so that one half is superimposed on the other) and returning i
24、t to its original flat position. The flattening and straightening of the 180 degree bend shall be done using a rubber-covered metal roller weighing 4-/2 plus or minus “2 pounds. performed in the same way with the inside surface of the crease the same for all bends. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under th
27、e provisions of the contract. 0 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch/pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest. revision of Federal St
28、andard No. 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The cont
