SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers three types of chests. Chests are

Except as specified herein, materials shall conform to the applicable portions of the specifications, standards, and drawings (with bills of material) shown in

16、 Section 2 of this specification, and shall be capable of meeting the requirements shown therein. In addition, the metals shall conform to the chemical requirements of their applicable specifications when tested as specified in 4.4.2. When materials to be used are not specifically designated, those

17、used shall be of the highest commercial quality, and suitable for the purpose intended . 3.1.1. Aluminum. 3.1.1.1 Sheet. Aluminum sheet of alloy 6061-T4 shall conform to QQ-A-250- Aluminum sheet of alloy 5052-H32 shall conform to QQ-A-250/8. 3.1.1.2 Tubing and angle. Aluminum alloy 6063-T5 shall be

18、used for tubing and angles, and shall conform to QQ-A-200/9. 3.1.2 Corrosion-resistinq steel. Corrosion-resisting steel shall be AISI 301 and 303 and shall comply with the AISI 300 series of FED-STD-66. 3.2 Style, design and construction. Style, design and construction shall be in accordance with th

19、e Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawings referenced for each component. Each chest shall be supplied with two cover assemblies that can be used as tables through the use of folding legs. The completely assembled units shall be lightweight, and suitable for use with, and functionally compat

20、ible with the MUST system. The units shall be readily movable, simple to maintain and easy to clean. The drawers shall slide easily and smoothly. 3.2.1 Type I (Patient Treatment/Linen). The type I, Patient treatment/linen chest shall be furnished with 2 recessed carrying handles, 2 non-adjustable sh

21、elves, and 2 removable cover assemblies, and shall be in accordance with DPSC drawings No. 25032, 25033, 25034, and applicable Bill of Materials. The type II, Medicine and Instrument Chest shall be furnished with two recessed carrying handles, six drawers, two removable cover assemblies, and shall be in accordance with DPSC drawings

23、No. 25031, 25033, and 25034, and applicable Bill of Materials. The second drawer from the top shall have a built-in device for securing narcotics and other sensitive items. The chest weight with drawers and cover shall not exceed eighty-eight pounds. 3.2.3 Type III (Medical Instrument and Supply Set

24、). The type III, Medicine Instrument and Supply Set Chest shall be furnished _- - with two recessed carrying handles, nine fixed compartments and two removable cover assemblies, and shall be in accordance with DPSC drawings No. 25033, 25034, and 25035 and applicable Bill of Materials. The chest weig

25、ht with compartments and covers shall not exceed seventy-five pounds. 3.3 Chest outer covers. Chest outer covers (parts #3) shall be fabricated of either one or two pieces of 0.080 inch thick 6061-T4 aluminum welded with a cntinuous square-groove butt weld. A back-up strip may be used to facilitate

26、welding. Welds to be ground and finished smooth to blend with adjacent surfaces. 3.4 Drawer slides (Type II chest). The drawer glides on the type II chest shall be coated with nylon, 0.10 inch thick, applied by the fluidized bed process, as indicated on sheet 2 of drawing No. 25031. Necessary holes

27、shall be drilled after the coating process. 3.5 Finish. After welding has been completed, but before final assembly, all exposed metal surfaces of the chest except the drawer glide bottoms shall be furnished in hospital green color No. 14241 of Federal Standard No. 595. All surfaces shall be thoroug

28、hly cleaned of dirt, grease, welding flux and loose scale. Before painting, chests shall be primed with one coat of primer per TT-P-659, and two coats of enamel, class B, per TT-E-491. Brackets for the table legs shall be zinc plated prior to painting. The resultant finish shall be hard, smooth and

All welds shall be clean, nonporous, sound, ground and finished smooth to match adjacent surfaces. All welds shall be free from pitmarks and imperfection. All surfaces shall be fr

35、ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purcha

36、se order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections ar

All items shall meet all r

38、equirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that

39、 all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defect

40、ive material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. 4.1.2 Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government, upon the Governments request, at a

41、ny time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of 3 years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. 4.1.3 Inspection. Inspection, as used in this specification, is defined as both examination (such as visual and auditory investigation withou

42、t the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. 4.1.4 Certificates of quality. Certificates of quality supplied by the manufacturer of the component or material may be furnished in lieu of actua

43、l performance of such testing by the contractor, provided lot identity has been maintained and can be demonstrated to the Government. The certificate shall include the name of the contractor, the contract number, the name of the manufacturer or supplier, the National Stock Number (NSN), the item ide

44、ntification, the name of the component/material, the lot number, the lot size, the sample size, the date of testing, the test method, individual test results, and the specification requirements. 0 4.2 Sampling. 4.2.1 For examination. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL

45、-STD-105 and table I.
