All new or changed features are color separated in hydro purple unless

8、 otherwise indicated in this standard or the project instructions. 5.2 Roads, railroads, a nd related data, 5.2.1 Roads. Compile only major new transportation routes. It is not necessary to compile minor connector routes or short streets. Insignificant alignment changes are not compiled. The road cl

9、assification of existing roads, on the previous edition, shall be retained unless they have definitely changed or there is an inconsistency in the road classification between matching sheets. If it is doubtful that the road classification has changed, retain the original classification. Roads under

10、construction shall be appropriately labeled, 6 U 5.2.1.1 Roads a nd st reets ( 1:50.000 all weather, loose surface; and fair/dry weather roads, tracks, and streets. All weather hard surface and all weather loose surface roads include al1 such roads regardless of the number of lanes. If a road is mor

11、e than two lanes wide, add the appropriate labeling. Divided highways are compiled as all weather hard surface roads with the label “DIVIDED11 and the number of lanes added. No distinction is made among fair/dry weather roads, tracks, and streets. Do not attempt to change roads, on the previous edit

12、ion, among these classifications. Delete all roads which no longer exist. Trails and footpaths are not added but those on the previous edition may be upgraded, if warranted. Trail and footpath symbols on the previous edition need not be deleted unless they are upgraded or conflict with other added o

Four classifications of roads shall be compiled: Divided highway or boulevard, primary road or through street, secondary road

14、 or street, and track or trail. All new divided highways, boulevards, primary roads and through streets shall be compiled. A representative pattern of new secondary roads and streets shall be added, with an emphasis on streets connecting major routes and those for which street names have been provid

15、ed. Drives in parks and narrow streets shall be included in this classification. Avoid compiling numerous parallel streets, short dead end streets, and streets in areas with a dense existing street pattern. Only the most prominent tracks or trails shall be compiled in areas devoid of other roads. De

16、lete all roads that no longer exist. Add, change, or delete street names, as needed, from the source materials provided. 5.2.2 Railroads. Compile only significant new railroads (including narrow gauge railroads and car lines). It is not necessary to compile minor feeder lines, spurs, sidings, or sma

17、ll railroad yards. Portray railroads using the symbols from the appropriate specifications. Generally the gauge of a new railroad is the same as the existing railroad to which it connects, unless otherwise specified. When in doubt as to the gauge of a new railroad, not connecting to an existing rail

18、road, portray it as a normal gauge railroad. Delete any railroads that no longer exist or add the label “AEANDONED“, “DESTROYED“, or “DISMANTLED“ as appropriate. 5.2.2.1 Railroad featu res. All significant railroad yards, stations, turntables, and snowsheds are compiled. Delete any of these features

19、 that no longer exist. 5.2.3 Road a nd railroad information. All new or changed road names, railroad names, and route markers will be shown. Any new or changed road lane information (1:50,000 significant additions to these towns shall be shown as a built-up area. Existing buildings which fall within

20、 new built-up areas need not be deleted. Retain any landmark buildings that are still present in these areas. Delete all area features within new built-up areas. 5.3.2 Shantvto wns. Compile only landmark new shantytowns and only significant additions and deletions to existing shantytowns, Shantytown

21、s shall be shown using the landmark area symbol and labeled, see 5.5.14. Delete any area features within new shantytowns that no longer exist. 5.3.3 Destroved powated places (1:50,000 see 5.5.14. Only landmark significant areas need to be shown. Populated place names and any buildings or landmark ob

22、jects which still exist within the destroyed area shall be retained. The remaining buildings and all built-up area tints shall be deleted. Built -up areas which are now destroyed and all areas shown by the destroyed populated area symbol on the previous edition, shall be portrayed using the landmark area symbol and labeled; see 5.5.14. Populated place names and any landmark objects which still exist within the destroyed are

Destroyed important buildings, not shown on the previous edition, shall be compiled, labeled, and shown in hydro purple. The color of the labels in all cases shall be hydro purple. 5.4.7 Wer dwUcrs (l:5O,O

30、OO & 1:100 TTIMI- Compile only other (non-building) dwellings of landmark significance. Other dwellings include cave dwellings, underground dwellings, tents, and huts. Use the landmark object symbol(s) for a single dwelling and for groups of two or three dwellings. For larger groups, use the landmar

31、k area symbol. Add appropriate labeling. On sheets with many of these features, the appropriate symbol for the particular feature in the specifications may be used. In this case, add the symbol(s) to the purple symbol legend. 5.5 Miscellaneous cultural featu res. 5.5.1 Boundaries. Only international

32、 boundaries and other lines of separation of sovereignty or control need to be shown in the map interior. appropriate boundary labeling, as needed, from the source materials provided. divisions (first-, second-, and third-order) are identified in the Boundary diagram only. boundaries are shown in th

33、e map interior on the previous edition, and have not changed, they shall be retained. If any additions or revisions are required to these boundaries, all shall be deleted from the map interior. If the only changes to administrative division boundaries are deletions, the remaining boundaries may be r

34、etained. The treatment of boundaries in the Boundary diagram is discussed in 5.14.9. Update these boundaries and the Boundaries of subordinate administrative If administrative division 5.5.2 Powerlines. Compile all significant powerlines. it is not necessary to compile short feeder lines, telephone,

35、 or telegraph lines. Delete any powerlines that.no longer exist. 5.5.3 PiDelines. Only significant pipelines shall be compiled. It is not necessary to show short feeder lines. The product carried by the pipeline shall be indicated by labeling, if known. Delete any pipelines that no longer exist. II

39、rainage to fit the new dams. 5.5.8 Levees a nd embankments. Areas containing new landmark levees or embankments are identified by labeling only. Individual levees are not portrayed unless they are of landmark significance or unless otherwise directed by project instructions. 5.5.9 Harbor and coastal

40、 structures. Landmark significant harbor and coastal structures are compiled such as breakwaters, jetties, and piers. exist. Delete any of these features that no longer a 5.5.10 Airfields and heljports. Compile all new airfields and heliports, as well as any additions to existing airfields, includin

41、g- runways, taxiways, aprons, hardstands, and related features. Add or revise labeling per appropriate specifications. It is not necessary to show airfield limits. Abandoned airfields and heliports shall be labeled as such. Delete any airfields or heliports that no longer exist. Delete or revise all

42、 features that conflict with new airfields or heliports. 5.5.11 Qbstructions (1:FjOOOO & 1:lOO.OOO TIM) When information is provided, obstructions and obstruction information will be added, revised, OF deleted per appropriate specifications. delete those which no longer exist. Delete any racetracks or stadiums which no longer exist. 5.5.13 Compile only the most prominent new landmark objecta, not otherwise symbolized, (such as towers, masts, ch

The landmark object symbol shall be used for these features. 5.5.14 A landmark area is a locality (other than a built-up area) which is prominent in relation to its surroundings. Landmark areas include storage are

46、as, mining areas, antenna fields, water and sewage treatment plants, golf courses, cemeteries, sports centers, and similar areas. Compile all significant new landmark areas and changes to existing areas, and any new buildings and landmark objects within them. Outline and label these features per app

47、ropriate specifications. Appropriately label any landmark areas on the previous edition that have been abandoned or destroyed and delete all landmark areas which no longer exist. Delete or revise all features that conflict with new or revised landmark areas. 5.5.15 Other cuural fedres. Add any other

48、 cultural features of landmark significance. Use the landmark object or area symbol or the symbolization from the appropriate specifications and label appropriately. Delete any such features that no longer exist. 5.6 Drainacre Inland hvdroaraphy) . 5.6 1 Ge neral. Only major landmark significant sho

49、reline and drainage feature changes and additions are compiled. Do not show minor alignment differences. No distinction is made between newly compiled intermittent or perennial drainage, or among definite, indefinite or intermittent shorelines. Delete or revise all existing drainage features that conflict with new or revised drainage or other features. Except for shorelines, streams, and open water bodies, all drainage features shall b
