10、er, covered with a cotton wrap and a shield, and protected with an outer sheath of neoprene. 1.2. Application: This cable will be used primarily as a microphone cable in radio broadcasting service. A high degree of flexibility, resistance to breakage of conductors or shield by bending ati connectors

14、allic Braid Type-The shield shall consiat of #84 AWG tinned copper braid to the same specification as strands in conductors. This braid shall be a weave of 24 carriers, 5 ends and approximately 19.3 picks per inch, applied around the cotton braid. A close wind of 60-1 cotton shall be applied over th

15、e shield. 2.9 Sheath: The sheath shall be a smooth, synthetic com und. The physical and aging properties shall con- form to A.S.T.M. Tentative Specifications D7 i? 2,latest revision, a neoprene, except that, since this sheath is to be colored brown, the tensile etrength requirementi is reduced to 1,

16、600 lbs., per square inch. Te sheath is to be colored brown within the nominal and dark or deep limita as given in the latest issue of EIA Standard GEN-101A. 3. ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS : 3.1 Dielectric Teat: The cable shall be capable of withstanding 1000 AC volts rms for a period of one mtnute b

17、etween conductors and between conductors and shield. The cable sheath shall be capable of withstanding 1000 AC volta between shield and ground (water) using water immersion. 3.2 Insulation Resistance: The cable shall have an insulation resistance of not less than 600 megohms per 1000 feet between co

18、nductors, and between each conductor and the shield. The measurement should be macle after one minute electrification, witit a continuous E.M.F. of from 100 to 600 volts. All testing methods should, in general, comply with A.S.T.M. Tentative Specification D470, latest revision. 3.3 Capacitance: It i

19、s required that the capacitanceat 1000 cps, between conductors, shall not execeed 60 ppf per foot and the capacitance at 1000 cps, between one conductor and the other conductor connected to the shield, shall not exceed 120 ppf per foot. 4. COLOR USAGE: The, following color code usage, including conn
