12、tch Panels of Certified Quality,tg and the latest issue Of EIA-4980000, !Generic Specification for Keyboard Switches of Certified Quality. 1.0 SECTION ONE - SCOPE AND OBJECT 1.1 Scope The touch stroke keyboards of certified quality covered by this Specification: 1.1.1 1.1.2 1.1.3 1.1.4 1.1.5 Shall u
13、tilize a copper clad and etched printed circuit board of no more than 1161 square centimeters (180 square inches) in area, and employ the metal lldomell. switch technolsgy in the contact system. Shall utilize a smooth or embossed overlay of polyeste? or polycarbonate as the front panel surface, the
14、overlay being printed in the color(s), configuration and with the nomenclature required by the procurement documentation. Shall have a minimum center-to-center spacing of the ttdomelt contacts of 12.7 mm (0.500 inch). Shall have a maximum rated Voltage of 24 Vdc, a maximum rated current of 10 a, a m
15、inimum voltage breakdown of 250 Vac, a minimum life expectancy of 1, operations per contact, and shall have contact characteristics compatible with digital logic circuitry. 16、The object of this Detail Specification is to provide all information required for identification, quality assessment and certification of these keyboards. The information contained herein or by reference is complete and sufficient for inspection purposes. 2.0 SECTION TWO - GENERAL The related docum
17、ents, units, symbols, terminology, standard values and preferred values are as prescribed in EIA-498B000. 2.2 Marking 2.2.1 Part Number Each product shall be classified and identified (marked) as follows: 2.2.1.1 The number of this Specification (EIA498BAAA) 2.2.1.2 Dome size designator consisting o
18、f the first two digits of the nominal diameter (in thousandths of an inch) of the smallest dome contact used in the assem)slyo If more than one size of dome is used, these two digits shall be followed by a slash mark (/). Only dome contacts which have successfully passed qualification tests can be u
19、sed in a certified keyboard o 2.2.1.3 Flat or embossed overlay designator consisting of either the letter F for flat, or the letter E for embossed. 2.2.1.4 Overlay material designator consisting of either the letter E for polyester, or the letter C for polycarbonate. 21、ormation for the family of components covered by this Detail Specification. 3.0 SECTION THREE - QUALITY ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES 3.1 The quality assessment procedures are prescribed in Section Three of EIA-498B000 and are supplemented by the following information: 3.1.1 Qualification Approval Inspectio
22、n Tests The qualification approval inspection tests are prescribed in Table I herein for the qualification of the entire range of product capabilities covered by this Detail Specification. 3.1.2 Test Specimens Four types of test specimens may be required for qualification, the exact number depending
23、 on the range of product for which capability approval is sought. These test specimen types are as follows: Type W - Twelve button array configured in accordance with Figure 1 and utilizing the smallest diameter dome contact for which qualification is sought. The printed circuit board shall have a n
24、ominal thickness of 3.18 mm (0.125 inch) with a single pole, common bus circuit and rear ground plane on material in accordance with clause 3.1.3.5. The overlay shall be made of the minimum thickness for which qualification is sought, may be either flat or embossed, shall be printed in four appropri
25、ate colors with each switch position separately identified with a number, letter, or symbol and shall be made from either polyester or polycarbonate material, or both, depending on the extent of qualification sought. If the overlay is embossed, the embossing shall be of the “rail and pillowt1 type a
26、s shown in Figure 1. Type X - Same as Type W except made with the largest dome contact diameter for which qualification is sought. 27、ter dimensions of the printed circuit board shall be adjusted accordingly. The printed circuit board material shall have a nominal thickness of 0.79 nun (0.031 inch) Type Y - Same as Type W except one set of test specimens shall be made using each additional dome contact diameter for which qualifica
28、tion is sought. Switch center-to-center distance shall be the minimum for the particular dome contact used and the overall dimensions of the test specimens shall be adjusted accordingly. The printed circuit boards shall all have a nominal thickness of 1.57 nun (0.062 inch). Type Z - Shall be as desc
29、ribed in Figure 2 using the largest dome contact diameter for which qualification is sought. The printed circuit board shall be made of material in accordance with clause 3.1.3.5, and with a nominal thickness of 3.18 nun (0.125 inch) with a single pole, common bus circuit with a rear ground plane. 30、he overlay shall be made of the thinnest material for which qualification is sought, and a minimum of two specimens shall be made and tested from each overlay material type (i.e., polyester, polycarbonate) for which qualification is sought. Each overlay shall be printed in four colors and each switc
31、h position shall be separately identified with a number, letter or symbol. When embossing is included, each switch position shall be lrail and pillow1 embossed as shown in Figure 1. 32、gency. 3.1.3 Extent of Qualification and Capability Approval The limits of qualification and capability approval shall be as follows: 3.1.3.1 Dome thickness: Limited to those sizes and configurations (material, thickness, form) tested and qualified. 34、greater thicknesses are considered qualified. Printed circuit board materials: Any material suitable for the particular application of 0.79 m (0.031 inch) or greater nominal thickness. Printed circuit: Any circuit for which the minimum spacing between mutually insulated elements (traces, pads, etc.)
