The complete requirements forthe switches describedherein shall consist ofthis Detail Specification, the latest issue of EIA-520E000, “Sectional Specification for In-Line Switches of Certified Quality,g1 and the latest issue of EIA-5200000, “Generi

14、c Specification for Special-use Electromechanical switches of Certified Quality. II 1.0 SECTION ONE - SCOPE AND OBJECT 1.1 Scope The Dual In-line Surface Mountable Switches of certified quality covered by this Detail Specification: 1.1.1-. Have maximum enclosure dimensions of 32.5 mm (1.280 inch) lo

15、ng, 7.26 (0.286) wide and 4.57 (0.180) high. 1.1.2 Have a maximum rated voltage of 50 Vdc. 1.1.3 Have a maximum rated current of 100 mA. 1.1.4 Have slide actuators that are flush with, or recessed below, the top surface of the switch. 1.1.5 Are sealed against the entrance of soldering flux and clean

16、ing solutions during the process of assembly to circuit boards. 1.2 Object The object of this Detail Specification is to provide all information required for the identification, quality assessment, and certification of these switches. The information, contained herein or by reference, is complete an

17、d sufficient for inspection purposes. 2.0 SECTION TWO - GENERAL 2.1 The related documents, units, symbols, terminology and markings are prescribed in Section Two of Sectional Specification EIA 520E000, and General Speci- fication EIA 5200000, and the following additional requirements: 2.5.1 Switches

18、 shall be marked so as to identify .the state of the contacts with respect to the actuation position (i.e. “ON“ on appropriate side, a round dot on the closed contact side, etc.). 20、CEDURES -* 3.1 4.0 4.1 O08 028 O09 029 - O10 O 30 - o11 I 012 031 032 I The quality assessment procedures are prescribed in Section Three or Sectional Specification EIA 520E000, and are supplemented by the following information: 3.1.1 Qualification Inspection Tests: The qualification tests are presc

21、ribed in Table I herein for the qualification of the entire subfamily of switches covered by this Detail Specification. Either gull wing, J-bend or I-type terminations can be used for qualification, but switches must have 8 poles. 3.4.5 Lot-By-Lot Inspection Tests: The lot-by-lot inspection tests ar

22、e prescribed in Table II herein. 3.4.6 Periodic Inspection Tests: The periodic inspection tests are prescribed in Table III herein. SECTION FOUR - TEST METHODS AND REQUIREMENTS General The test methods and requirements are prescribed in Section Four of Generic Specification EIA 5200000, Section Four

24、lace for Group A, the solderability test of Group B, and the machine soldering test of Group C of Qualification Test Table I. These seals may be removed for all other qualification tests. Insulation resistance and voltage proof measurement in Group A only will be made between adjacent poles (the clo

25、sed circuit prevents taking these readings across open contacts). Switch Resistance Contact resistance is to be measured between the two terminals associated with each switch pole, and shall not exceed 20 milliohms initially and in Qualification Groups A and C, and 100 milliohms in Qualification Gro

26、ups B, D, E and Periodic Test Group B. Insulation Resistance Insulation resistance shall be measured at 100 2 5 Vdc, and at stan- dard atmospheric conditions. Insulation resistance shall not be less than 1000 megohms. Voltage Proof Voltage proof measurements shall be made with an applied voltage of

27、500 Vac (rms). Maximum allowable leakage current is 500 microamperes. The switch shall withstand the test voltage without sustained arcing, breakdown, or damage to insulation. Vibration Vibration testing shall be in accordance with EIA 186-8 Type III. Strength of Terminations Strength of termination

28、s shall be tested in accordance with EIA-186-6 with a 1.1 pound load on a minimum of three randomly selected terminals on each specimen. Electrical Endurance The electrical endurance test shall be run with one-half of the specimens tested in accordance with Test 8-4 (logic load) and one-half of the

29、specimens tested in accordance with Test 8-5 (low level load). The number of cycles shall be 2000, and no sticks or misses are allowed. Capacitance The maximum allowable capacitance shall be 5 picofarads. Machine Soldering (Vapor Phase) The machine soldering test shall be run in accordance with EIA

30、448-19 of this specification, and with Method A (immersion) cleaning using all four solutions. After the test, there shall be good solder connections, no externally visible indication of leakage, contact resistance shall be in accordance with 4.5.1, and insulation resistance shall be in accordance w

31、ith 4.5.2, and all marking shall be readable.
