For example, the substitution solvents under Class IV may not be used where air pollution con- trol regulations are in effect, 2.2 Evaluation Conc

5、luding the tests as performed by Method A or Method B, the markings shall be examined and rated as to acceptability according to the following: 2.2.1 Rating Description Failing Marking illegible or destroyed Failing Passing Passing Markings unaffected Color Change e Marking doubtfully legible, i.e.,

6、 possible mistaking of similar characters such as R, P, B, E, & F, C, & G Markings removed in spots or made thin, but in any event readable In addition, color changes on these colors utilized to identify values of components shall be within the limits of RS-359 for the color specified. A slight surf

7、ace haze that does not affect the basic acceptable RS-359 color range shall be considered passing. 2.3 Report The report shall include the following: A. Complete identification of the item under test. B. Solvents used - solvents temperatures. C. Evaluation including comment on color change. D. Test

8、method used. 2.4 Information required in the individual component standard: A. The number of specimens to be tested and the number of defectives allowed. B. TEST METHODS 3.1 METHODA 3.1.1 Vessel The vessel shall be made of inert material and siffucient size to permit complete immersion of the specimens in the solvent solutions used. 3.1.2 Brush A toothbrush with a handle made of material non-reactive wi h the solvents shall be used. The brush sh

10、all have three rows approximately 1% “ long of medium stiffness bristles, the free ends of which shall lie in the same horizontal plane. The toothbrush shall be discarded at the completion of the test if there is any visible deterioration of the bristles. 3.1.3 Test Procedure The solutions shall be

11、maintained at a temperature of 23OC(+7, -3OC). The specimens shall be com- pletely immersed for three minutes in the specified solution contained in the vessel specified in 3.1.1. Immediately following immersion and while still wet with solvent, the specimen shall be brushed with normal hand pressur

12、e (approximately 2 to 3 ounce pressure) for ten strokes on the portion of the specimen as specified in the individual specification, with the brush specified in 3.1.2. The brush stroke shall be directed in the direction of the rows of bristles, across the surface of the specimen being tested. One st

13、roke of the brush is one movement of the brush across the component (a return movement shall be considered a second stroke). After five minutes, the specimens shall be examined to determine the extent, if any, of deterioration that was incurred. a 3.1.4 Evaluation Immediately after completion of the

14、 test and examination of Para. 3.1.3, the evaluation shall be made per the general section of this Standard. 3.1.5 Report Per the general section of this Standard. 3.2 METHOD B (This method is an alternate procedure which is to be used only when specifically stated in the individual component standard.) This method shall be identical with Method A in 3.1 except that the solvent solution shall be maintained at the boiling point of the solvent rather than 23OC(+7, -3OC). O
