3、 k I EEMUAI - THE ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS USERS ASSOCIATION The Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association-EEMUA-was formed in 1983 by the Amalgamation of the Oil Companies Materials Association (OCMA) and the Engineering Equipment Users Association (EEUA). It is an organisati

The Association aims to reduce members costs by providing the opportunity for them to share resources and expertise in order to keep

6、abreast of technological developments and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their engineering activities. EEMUA supports the British Standards Institution, works with other institutions, associations, government departments, regulatory authorities and the Confederation of British industry,

7、 and is also actively involved with other standards-making bodies, both national and international, such as the American Petroleum Institute. Work, which is carried out in-house by members alone or with the help of other organisations, may lead to the production of Association publications. These ar

Existing qualifications shall not be recognised if the welder ceases to work for Contractors participating in the scheme for a period in excess of six months. (b) If the test was performed more than six months previously, the certificate shall have been

38、s and prepared edges of materials and components shall be avoided. 5.2.2 Design of Welded Connections Except as noted on the Drawings, all butt welds shall be continuous and full penetration. Single-sided butt welds will normally be specified only for tubulars less than 600 mm internal diameter. Fil

39、let weld leg lengths and seal welding requirements will be specified on the Drawing s. 5.2.3 Forming and Straightening Any forming and/or straightening shall be performed using detailed procedures, with demonstrable controls, to prevent impairment of the materials properties to the extent that they

40、fall outside of specification requirements. 5.2.4 Edge Preparation Edges to be welded shall be prepared by machining, or by thermal cutting followed by grinding to bright metal. If the Contractor successfully qualifies all welding procedures using materials which have not been ground after thermal c

The surface of the steel within 75 mm of the proposed weld shall be dry, clean and free from loose scale or paint (except that the use of a protective primer may be permitted if used in all welding procedure qualifi

The use of flame gouging or washing is not permitted. 5.2.5 Alignment and Fit-up of Welded Joints Welded joints shall meet the requirements and tolerances of the welding procedure specification. Where fabr

43、ication aids are welded directly to the structure, documented welding procedures shall be employed. Removal of such aids shall be by cutting proud of the base metal surface, then grinding flush. Any root gaps in multi-pass fillets shall be compensated for by a corresponding increase in fillet leg le

For single pass-fillets, the root gap shall be limited to 3 mm and the weid leg length shall be compensated for by the same amount. 13 Previous page is blank - STD.EENUA PUB NO 177-ENGL 1777 = 57bb734 00012LO 282 Where butt welds are to be made between members of differ

Tack welds which are to form part of the completed joint are permitted for double-sided welds provided they are feathered at both ends. When agreed with the Purchaser, root tacks which are to remain in the jo

Rat-holes at other locations should be avoided, but are

All rat-holes may be left open unless advised otherwise by the Purchaser. 5.3 Control of Production Welding 5.3.1 Welding Environment All welding shall be carried out in conditions which permit satisfactory welding and adequate inspection. Whenever possible welds should be made in fabrication shops, with outdoor welding being restricted to final erection or to sub-assemblies which are too large or heavy to be welded elsewhere. Outdoor welding shall be protected from the effects of adverse w
