24、m.EN10289:2002(E) 5 1Scope ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesthereqiurementsofliquidappliedexternalcoating,epoxy(EP)andepoxy modified(EPMOD),forthecorrosionprotectionofsteeltubesandpipelinefittings. Thecoatinginthisstandardcanbeappliedtolongitudinallyorspirallyweldedandtoseamlesssteeltubesand fittingsuse
25、dfortheconstructionofpipelinesforconveyingliquidsorgases. Ifthecomponenthastobecoldbentthecoatingshallbeappliedafterbendingunlessotherwiseapprovedbythe purchaser. Thecoatingshallconsistnormallyofonelayerofliquidproduct,appliedbybrushorbysprayairlesstechnique. Otherapplicationmethodscanberecommendedb
26、ytheproductmanufacturer,inaccordancewiththekindof product. Thiscoatingcanbeusedfortheprotectionofburiedorsubmergedsteeltubesforserviceatthefollowing temperaturesandwiththreethicknessclassesA(400 m m),B(800 m m)andC(1500 m m)basedonthefollowing combination: type1 : 20Cto40C,thicknessclassAorBorC type

Thebase(epoxyresin)andcuringagentshouldhavedifferentcoloursallowingtheverificationofthecorrectmixing andch
35、eckingtheuniformityofthecolourofthemixedproduct. Thecoatingisconsideredcuredwhenithasattainedthehardnessrecommendedbytheproductmanufacturer(see Table1). Thisstandardcallsfortheuseofsubstancesand/orproceduresthatmaybeinjurioustohealthifadequate precautionsarenottaken.Itrefersonlytotechnicalsuitabilit
