The date of applicability of EN 12416-1 as a “harmonized” European Standard, i.e. the date after which
6、 this standard may be used for CE marking purposes, is subject to an announcement in the Official Journal of the European Communities.EN 12416-1 is the subject of transitional arrangements agreed under the Commission mandate. The Member States have agreed a nominal transition period for the co-exist
7、ence of EN 12416-1 and their corresponding national standard(s). It is intended that this period will comprise a nominal nine month period during which any required changes to national regulations are to be made, followed by a further nominal 12 month period for the implementation of CE marking. At
8、the end of this co-existence period, the national standard(s) will be withdrawn. In the UK, there are no corresponding national standards.This publication does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. 27、007 (E) 4 1 Scope This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for materials, construction and performance of components intended for use in powder firefighting systems complying with prEN 12416-2:2000. The components covered are as follows: - powder containers - expellant gas cont
28、ainer assemblies - pressure regulators and gauges - actuators - main isolating valves and selector valves - nozzles. The components are suitable for powder firefighting systems for general use in buildings and other construction works. In areas with a risk of explosion, earthquake zones, extreme env
29、ironmental conditions e.g. marine, offshore, mining or aircraft additional considerations apply. This standard covers components for use in powder extinguishing systems complying with prEN 12416-2:2000. It does not cover, for example, pipes and fittings which are covered by more general standards fo
30、r which requirements and recommendations are given in prEN 12416-2:2000.
