This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2001, and conflicting national standards shall be wit

EN 923 Adhesives - Terms and definitions 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this European Standard, the terms and definitions in accordance with EN 923 and the following apply : NOTE All the following definitions of words and phrases relating to the storage of adh
21、esives are illustrated in annex A (normative). :adhesive) manufacturer person or firm that converts raw materials into adhesives NOTE The manufacturing process almost always involves mixing and often requires some form of chemical reaction 3.2 (adhesive) supplier person or firm that sends adhesives
22、by an appropriate mean of transport, to either a purchaser or an user NOTE A supplier can be : a) the actual manufacturer ; b) a specific section of the manufacturers organisation ; c) a subsidiary ; d) an appointed distributor or agent. 3.3 purchaser person or firm that buys the adhesive NOTE The p

This period of the adhesives life should be spent under conditions which do not prejudice the manufacturers 3.15 additional period of validit
26、y period of time which follows the date of expiry of the manufacturers original guarantee and during which the adhesive, in its original packing and stored under the specified conditions : a) satisfies the requirements of the product specification ; b) is authorised for use by either the purchaser o
27、r user. NOTE 1 The act of authorising an additional period of use is called re-validation (see 4.2). NOTE 2 The end of this additional period of validation should always lie within the technical shelf life (3.17). 3.1 6 total prolonged life period of time resulting of the sum of the guaranteed shelf
28、 life and any additional period of validity 3.1 7 technical shelf life period of time commencing on the date of manufacture and during which the adhesive, in its original packing and stored under the specified conditions, satisfies the requirements of the product specification NOTE 1 This period is
29、not always known precisely since the capability of an adhesive can not have been established sufficiently. The setting of an additional period of validity should take this uncertainty into account. NOTE 2 This period is not guaranteed by the manufacturer. 3.1 8 bench or workshop life period of time
30、resulting of the sum of the successive periods during which the adhesive, when submitted to the ambient conditions of a typical workshop, satisfies the requirements of its specification 3.19 work life period of time between the instant when the adhesive, having been prepared according to the manufac
31、turers instructions, is ready for use and the instant when it is no longer usable 4 Requirements 4.1 Storage guarantee The product specification or the technical data sheet shall include storage life before delivery (3.1 4) conditions for the adhesive in its original, unopened packaging. These shall
32、 include, at a minimum, the appropriate storage temperature, relative humidity and a statement that the same conditions shall be maintained during the guaranteed shelf life after purchase (3.13). Failure to maintain the required storage conditions shall invalidate the manufacturers guarantee. 4.2 Re
33、-validation Responsibility for extending the validity of a material beyond the expiry date (3.9) set by the manufacturer is fundamentally vested on the purchaser. In the event of a material being used after its original expiry date responsibility for its use shall be clearly accepted by either purch
34、aser or user, when these are not the same. Page 7 EN 12701 :2001 4.3 Individual packaging O The packaging shall be of such a nature that it shall protect the adhesive throughout the guaranteed shelf life when stored in accordance with the manufacturers requirements. Additionally, the packaging shall
35、 meet legal requirements and be sufficiently robust to allow conventional transportation taking into account the appropriate storage conditions (3.5). 4.4 Marking In the absence of the product technical specification or unless otherwise specified in the latter, individual and collective packages sha
36、ll carry information concerning the specified storage conditions and the guaranteed expiry date of the manufacturers guaranteed shelf life. 37、l be properly documented and recorded by the party authoricing the extension. 4.5 Transportation Transportation conditions shall be agreed between the purchaser (3.3) and the supplier (3.2) and guaranteed by O the supplier, his agent, appointed distributor or subsidiary. When transportation conditio
