23、 MPa and 2 MPa respectively, used for flexible gas supply lines in specific fields of application as follows: - smail kits according to EN 1326; - - miniature welding such as jeweilery work, dentism work excluding acetylene applications; - arc welding with shielding gas. NOTE. This standard does not

24、 exclude the use of rubber hoses in the same fields of application. Rubber hoses for these applications are covered by EN 559. This standard does not apply to hoses for liquified petroleum gases (LPG) in liquid phase and acetylene. The hose manufacturer shall be consuited for compatibility of the ho

The volume of the n-pentane shall be at least 50 times the volume of the test piece. A.2 Following imme

36、rsion reweigh the test piece after 5 min conditioning in air at room temperature and reweigh again after 24 h further conditioning under these conditions. A.3 Calculate the n-pentane absorbed and the Izrpentaneextractable matter using the following elqressions: Weigh a portion of the hose lining and

37、 then a) percentage n-pentane absorbed: b) percentage extractable matkc (Mo - Mz) I MO where MO Ml Mz is the initial mass of the test piece; is the mass of the test piece after immemion and 5 min conditioning; is the mass of the test piece after 24 h further conditioning. Annex B (normative) Method

38、of test for resistance to incandescent particles and hot surfaces A sample of hose, approximately 500 mm in length, shall be clamped in the test apparatus (see figure B.2). The CrNi steel heating wire (2,5 mm diameter) shall be clamped between the electrical connections, spaced 100 mm apart. The dow

39、nward force of the incandescent wire, perpendicular to the hose axis, shall be 1 N during the duration of the test. During the test the hose sha be Wed with an inert gas, e.g. nitsogen, at a pressure of 0,l Mpa (1 bar). The wire shall be heated with a current of 17 A, max. 0,5 V, to obtain a tempera

40、twe of approximately 225 “C. if the first test fails, the two subsequent tests shall be SatiSfat4)v. C.l.l Heatingfurnace: 350 W, inted dimensions : 150 mm deep by 50 mm diameter. C.1.2 lbular sliding resistance: 190 LR to 200 LR

43、, with screw movement or an aubtransformer with continuously variable output voltage. C.1.3 Calibrutedjlowmeter for oxygen: O to 5 Vmin at atmospheric pressure and 15 “C. C.1.4 Nitrogen-fllled mercuw-in-glass thermometer: suitable for use at 150 mm immersion, graduated up to 200 “C in intervais of n

44、ot more than 5 OC, the grauations to start not less than 200 mm above the bulb. C.2 Procedure Insert the ignition test apparatus, in its aluminium foil wrapping, into the electric furnace. The purpose of the aluminium foil is to minimize radiant heat and to obtain a more uniform temperature distribu

45、tion. Aqjust the energy supply to the electric furnace with the variable resistance or aubtransformer so that a constant temperature of 180 “C to 185 “C is maintained with the oxygen flowing at (2 I 0,l) Vmin. Cut the sample of rubber lining for test, after cleaning by buffing, into blocks of 8 mm3

46、to 10 mm3 of which no side shall be less than 1,3 mm nor greater han 2,5 nun. When the furnace is at constant temperature, remove the sample holder, impaie a sample block of the rubber hing under test on the tungsten point and replace the sample holder in the apparatus. It is necessary for this oper

47、ation to be carried out quickly, so that cooling is reduced to a minimum. The tungsten point should be kept clean and sharp. Retain the sample in the apparatus for at least 2 min and observe it carefully during this period, for evidence of ignition. Fumes can be observed but this shall not constitut

48、e evidence of ignition, which is nody accompanied by a flash and sometimes by a small explosion. When ignition of a sample occurs, the temperature of the apparatus can rise and it is then essential that time is allowed to permit the temperature to return to the appropriate testing temperature.
