17、ntheconstructionofbridgesorstructuresrequiringsimilarbearingsystems.Itpresupposes theexistenceofguidelinesfortheregularinspectionofthewholestructureduringitsservicelife. 25、ntsofthestructure 4 Generalrequirementsforregularandprincipalinspections Theconditionofthebearingsinastructureshallbecheckedvisually,atleastasoftenastheregularinspectionof thestructure(orfailingthisatthetimeoftheprincipalinspection)oriftheconstructionworkisnotsubjecttoregular inspection,byaninspecto
26、r,withcompetentknowledgeofbearings,atleastasfrequentlyasthestructureis inspected.Ifitisnecessarytoenabletheinspectortodothis,bearingsshallbecleanedpriortotheinspection. Thebearingsshouldbeinspectedafteranaccidentalcollisionwiththebridge,suchasanoverhighvehicle collidingwiththedeck,orafteranexception
27、alevent,suchasanearthquake. Shouldtheinspectorencounterconditionsthatheisunabletoexplainordetectfully,orforwhichheisunableto recommendremedialaction,heshallseek,ifneedbe,theassistanceofaspecialexpertbeforecompletinghis report. Dependingontheoutcomeoftheinspectiononeofthefollowingstepsshallbeundertak
28、en: noaction; furthermeasurementsofthemovementcapacity(underextremetemperatures,differentloads,etc.); furthertestprocedures; repair(correctionsoftheposition,replacementoftheentirebearingorofparts,renewalorsupplementofthe protectionagainstcorrosionorunderneathpackingwithmortar,etc.). 5 Regularinspect
29、ion Intheregularinspectionthefollowingpropertiesshallbechecked: a) sufficientcapacityforresidualmovementwithrespecttothetypeofthebearing,takingintoaccountthe temperatureofthestructure; b) visibledefects: cracks; incorrectposition; unforeseenmovementsanddeformations;EN133710:2003(E) 6 c) conditionofb
30、eddingandfixing; d) conditionofcorrosionprotection,dustprotectionandseals; e) conditionofslidingandrollingsurfaces; f) visibledefectsofadjoiningstructuralparts. Theresultsshallberecorded.AnexampleisshowninannexB.4.Thereportshallbefiledwithplansanddrawings ofthestructure. Incaseofvisibledefectsordama
31、gewhicharelikelytoaffectthefunction,checksaccordingtoclause6shallbe carriedout. 6 Principalinspection 6.1General Principalinspectionsshallbecarriedoutatlessfrequentintervalsthanregularinspections(seeA.5)andwill normallyreplaceoneofthese.Theyareintendedtoresultinapreciserecordoftheconditionofthebeari
32、ngand,if properlyinterpretedandactedupon,willensurethatthebearingwillcontinuetofunctionasintendeduntilthenext principalinspection. Itisrecommendedtocarryoutthefirstprincipalinspectionwithinoneyearofthestructurebeingputintoservice andtheresultscomparedwiththedetailsrecordedinaccordancewithclause7ofEN
33、133711:1997. Theprincipalinspectionshallincludeallthepointscoveredbytheregularinspectionbutinmoreprecisedetail. Pointsofparticularimportanceforeachtypeofbearingaregivenbelow.Figuresarealsoincludedshowingthe maindimensionstoberecordedforeachtypeofbearing.Theseshallbemeasuredwithdeadloadonlyonthe stru
34、cturewheneverpossible.Ifthisisnotfeasibledetailsoftheliveloadingshallbeprovidedaspreciselyas possible. Theobtainedmeasurementsshallbecomparedwiththedesignvalues.Hencethecapacityofthebearingforall anticipatedfuturemovementsandloadsshallbechecked. Typenumbersin6.2correspondtothetypenumbersinEN13371. 6
