This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard,
15、 either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2001, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2001. It is one of a series of standards being prepared describing the size designation of clothes. Other standards in the
16、series have the following titles: prEN 13402-2, Size designation of clothes - Primary and secondary dimensions in garments prEN 13402-3, Standard size designation systems for clothing (Wi 00248243) It is related to IS0 36351981; prEN IS0 36351996 was submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure (UAP

This European Standard is the result of this work. Additional dimensions for garment construction are standardized in IS0 855

When determining

Use the measuring stand (see 4.1 .I) to measure the height of ali persons other than infants not yet able to stand upright. Use the tape-measure (see 4.1.2
42、) to measure all other dimensions as well as the height of infants not yet able to stand upright. Apply moderate tension to the tape-measure (but ensure that the body is not constricted by the tape) and take each measurement “rounded up” to the next centimetre, except where mm are needed, e. g. foot
43、 and hand. Use the balance (see 4.1.3) to measure the body mass. Take measurements of all the primary dimensions specified in the European Standard for the size designation of the garment concerned. Other methods of measuring the body, such as biostereometry, photogrammetry scanning and other techno
