I Scope This Standard specifies requirements for the following: a) Three categories of cabinet towel, the catego

The colour fastness to washing test and the requirement level are based on the assumption that chlorine bleaching treatments will not be used in laundering. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference provi

27、e following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 cabinet roller towel reusable textile fabric rolls manufactured for use in particular types of towel dispenser unit so that a clean length of towelling is provided, either automatically or through manual action, for the purpose of drying the hands of the

28、user 4 Characteristics of the towel 4.1 Functional characteristics 4.1 .I General The functional characteristics are dictated by the requirements of rolling and unrolling the towel in the dispenser and of the wiping and drying of the hands. 4.1.2 Strength and selvedges The towel needs to have suffic

29、ient strength (see Table 1) to withstand the pulling action exerted when the towel is rolled and unrolled as well as when the hands are wiped and dried by the user. Selvedges need to be constructed so the towel rolls and unrolls correctly within the dispenser for which it is designed (See 4.2.2.2).

30、4.1.3 Wiping function In order to wipe the hands effectively the towel needs to be readily moulded by the hands and fingers, exert sufficient friction to feel comfortable when in contact with the skin, and present an irregular surface to improve the removal of residual substances from the hands. The

31、se attributes. can only be assessed subjectively. 4 EN 13569:2001(E) 4.1.4 Drying function The fabric shall have a high capacity for the rapid absorption of water. The liquid absorbancy time is taken as measure for the drying properties (see 4.2.2.1). 4.1.5 Cleanliness For the purposes of this stand

32、ard, a towel shall be considered to be hygienically clean when treated in a disinfecting process carried out according to a validated washing and finishing procedure (see clause 6). As micro-organisms may start to multiply as soon as the disinfecting process is complete, its effectiveness is maintai

33、ned by the removal of soil and stains (sources of nutrients) and adequately drying the towel. NOTE Moisture and a source of nutrients are required by the micro-organisms in order to multiply. 4.2 Technical characteristics 4.2.1 Fibres Cotton or man-made fibres or blends shall be used to produce plai

34、n or twisted yarns for weaving the fa bric. NOTE The introduction of polyester has the effect of augmenting the resistance to pilling and abrasion, but reducing the absorption capacity (e.g. The introduction of 50 % polyester reduces the absorption capacity by approximately 25 %), conversaly the int

35、roduction of man-made fibres can augment the absorption; for example a mixture composed of 62 % cotton, 25 % polyester and 13 % viscose has a similar rate of absorption capacity to that of a 100 % cotton fabric. 4.2.2 Fabric 4.2.2.1 Properties and performance a) Fabrics shall conform to the requirem

36、ents shown in Table 1. The requirements of Table 1 apply to towels, which have been bleached in manufacture, and prior to the first processing (see 4.1 5) in the laundry. NOTE Bleaching by the manufacturer before supply to the laundry is the more common practice. If the conditions of supply vary, th

37、en the point at which the performance requirements apply will vary also and some ammendment of the values given in Table 1 may be needed. b) Dyed fabrics shall also comply with the requirements shown in Table 2. 5 EN 13569:2001 (E) light medium heavy Table I - Towel properties prior to first process

40、 either be woven or tucked in. Selvedges shall be constructed so the towel rolls and unrolls correctly within the dispenser for which it is designed. Because of their importance to the perfomance of the towel and the functioning of the cabinet, selvedges should be properly constructed. NOTE 1 presen

There is, at NOTE 2 Examples of suitable structures are given in annex A. 4.3 Suitability for dispensers 4.3.1 General The towel under normal tension shall fit ea

43、wel may vary from 20 m to 45 m (measured according to EN 1773), and the stated width from 0,19 m to 0,30 m (measured according to EN 1773). However, particular types of dispenser may require towels of different dimensions. The towel shall be capable of being loaded in such a way that it will allow t

44、he dispenser, for which it is designed, to function properly without causing any blockage. 4.4 Specifications 4.4.1 Performance in service Table 3 denotes the fabric specification for all cabinet towels at the time of every supply to the end- user whilst compliance with this Standard is claimed. From each roll to be tested a laboratory sample shall be cut, from a position taken at random, but at least 3 m from the end of the roll. The laboratory sample shall be larg

Instead of specifying processes there is a requirement to

48、design, validate and monitor the chosen procedure, using the method described in this clause. 7 EN 13569:2001 (E) 6.1.1 The laundry operator shall design a disinfecting process into the washing and finishing process for the towel. The design shall take the form of a process specification with a deta

Design of the disinfecting process 6.1.2 Validation of the process The designed process shall be validated for achieving the necessary level of bacteria kill. This shall be carried out whilst operating at or above the minimum values in the process specification and using bioindicators as described in annex D or textile samples inoculated with benign indicator organisms. A micro-organism reduction of at least IO5 shall be achieved. Validation shall be carried out at a freq
