27、heforce measuringdevice. 5.2Clamps Theinstrumentshallbeequippedwithclampsforgrippingthespecimenatthespecifiedgaugelength.Theclamps shallgripthespecimenwithoutslippageordamagetothespecimenwhichcanresultinjawbreaks. a) Clampswithplanefaced,uncoatedjawscanbeused,butifthesecannotpreventslippage,thenothe
28、r typesofclampsmaybeusedbyagreementbetweentheparties. b) Clampswithcoatedjaws,orbollardtypeclampsinwhichthespecimenmakesapartialturnarounda curvedextensionorotherkindofsnubnoseddevice. TheprincipleofabollardtypeclampisshowninannexB. 6Sampling and conditioning Atleastthefirstlayerofproductonthepackageisrejected.Aminimumoffivespecimensofatleast1mlengthis takenfromthepackage.Beforetesting,thespecimensshallbeconditionedinthestandardatmo

NOTE Fortheautomatictesttheconditioningiscarriedoutwhilstthemonofilamentisstillonthepackage. 7 Testprocedure 7.1Operating conditions 7.1.1Pretension Useapretensionof(0,050,005)cN/dtex.Inallcasescalculatethepretensionusingthelineardensity. 7.1.2 Gaugelength Us
31、eagaugelengthof500mm1,0mm. NOTE Whenlargebollardclampsareuseditmaybenecessarytoincreasethegaugelengthtoensureanadequatefree lengthbetweentheclamps.Whentestingamonofilamentwithahighelongationitmaybenecessarytoshortenthegauge length. 7.1.3 Jawalignment Beforeclampingthetestspecimen,checkthatthejawsare
32、correctlyalignedandparallel,sothattheforceapplied causesnoangulardeviation.EN13895:2003(E) 7 7.1.4 Testingspeed Thetestingspeedshallbe100%ofthegaugelengthperminute.Otherspeedsmaybeagreeduponbetweenthe parties. 7.2 Preparationofspecimenandmountingprocedure 7.2.1 Manualtest Threadoneendofthetestspecim
33、enbetweenthejawsofoneclampandcloseit,takingcaretopreventany stretchingofyarn.Placetheotherendofthespecimenthroughthejawsoftheotherclampandapplythe pretensionbeforeclosingtheclamp. NOTE Somedynamometersprovidealternativeautomaticsystemsforapplyingpretension. 7.2.2Automatic test Fortheautomatictestthe
34、specimensaremountedautomaticallybyafeedingmechanismwhichthreadsthe specimenthroughthejaws.Thepretensionprocedureiscarriedoutautomaticallybythemachine. 7.3Testing Aftertheyarnhasbeenclamped,setthetraversingjawinmotionatthespecifiedtestingspeedandextendthe specimentobreak,recordingtheelongationandthef
35、orce(s)required. NOTE Fortheautomatictestthiswillnormallyhappenautomaticallyafterthemountingandpretensionprocedure 7.4 Yarnslippagethroughtheclampsandjawbreaks Ensurethatduringthetesttheclampedyarnlengthisnotincreasedbyslippageoftheyarnintheclamps. Whenatestspecimenbreaksinsidetheclamp,orwithin10mmo
36、ftheclampingpoint(seeannexB),thisis classifiedasajawbreak.Inthecaseofbollardclamps,anybreakthatoccursonthecurvedsurfaceoftheclamp isalsoclassifiedasajawbreak.Theresultsofsuchjawbreaksareignoredandadditionalspecimensshallbe tested.Ifthenumberofjawbreaksexceeds20%ofthenumberofspecimenstested,thejawsar
