20、 6940:i 984, including Amendment 1 :1 993) 3 Definition For the purposes of this European Standard the following definition applies. 3.1 industrial and technical textiles: any textile which can be used for industrial or technical purposes. NOTE. The definition does not include textiles for general p
21、urposes such as curtains, drapes, protective clothing, upholstery or bedding. 4 Pretreatment Cleansing may influence the burning behaviour of industrial and technical textiles by removing non durable finishes or by changing the structure of the material. For the relevant pretreatment procedure, refe
22、rence should be made to: a) the prodgct performance standard; b) the manufacturers recommended procedure; or c) a procedure agreed between the involved parties. 23、mber and size of the test specimens required shall be in accordance with EN IS0 6940. Unless otherwise specified, the test specimens shall not contain any features of construction such as seams, pleats etc. 6 Conditioning Condition the test specimen for at least 24 h in the standard atmosphere of (2
24、0 f 2) *C and (65 f 2) % r.h. 7 Procedure Determine ignitability according to EN IS0 6940 using commercial grade propane gas. 25、n of the textile; the cleansing procedure if used or a statement that the material is not intended to be cleansed; date of test; techniques used to attach textiles which cannot be supported on the pins; size of specimen used; if the material did not ignite in 20 s; a tabulation, for each direction i
26、n the case of edge ignition or each surface and direction in case of surface ignition, of the number of cases of ignition and non ignition observed at each timer setting used during the test; NOTE: See 8.6 of EN IS0 6940:1995. mean ignition time for each direction or, in case of surface ignition, fo
27、r each direction and surface of the fabric tested; minimum ignition time of the material which is the lowest time reported above.
